I know Philip Hobbs quite well and I have never seen him so angry as he was after that race. It has nothing to do with magic carrots and everything with race riding. Townend got a 2 day suspension for that by the way. Johnson might still have won after the first interference but Davy then shut the door again after the last. Call it race riding if you like but I know what happened. Aiden's army do the same on the flat and target the main danger at every opportunity.
Sageform,
Its the Cheltenham Festival and you have four horses going up that hill at the end of an extreme test for a young horse. PH may have every right to be disappointed with how things turned out but that same scenario would have happened to any other horse in the same scenario.
In short, I dont think his horse was targeted by the other 3 to avoid him winning. As has already been said the horse did have its chances to come back and failed to do so. Could it overturn form with the others in the future? Absolutely he could but Hobbs' horses were largely under a cloud at Cheltenham and that's perhaps where his pent up frustration stems from.
