Echo above shadow it once was, well thanks to the racists that are Imp123 and BUDDILEA whom both probably have  another user name as they follow everything over a cliff so must be up to their eye's in it

You have just accused me of being racist.

You could not be further from the truth.

I don't like to block people on here but have decided that you and another called Irishone who bring absolutely nothing worth reading on here, will now be blocked.
I hope you both get the help you need.

I have just read a superb post from a person called Miltons Sophie on the Irish Dominance thread.

I think it would be a very good idea if we all took note of what is said on that post.

It may just help put this forum back to one that was enjoyable and useful.

Thanks just read that post and after you condoning Imp123's post about the travelling community get back to where you belong as stated where in said post

Agree 100%

What post about travelling community?
you have confused me.
Report maelduin March 20, 2019 4:38 PM GMT
You didn't post anything racist Budd. You happened to post something after imp123 mentioned traveller's and a couple of posters choose to interpret your post as condoning his statement. Anyone without an agenda would have seen that was simply not the case.

It really is amazing how a couple of posters can change the whole dynamic of a chat board and why some continue to reply to their nonsense is beyond me. Are people really that desperate for dialogue? Very strange.

Ah right.Now i get it.
Thanks Maelduin.
Well to be honest i did not take much notice of imp's post really, but if his post was meant to be racist then of course i would not condone it.....who would??
Yes mate,i b0ll0ck myself at times for allowing myself to get involved with nonsense stuff on a bl00dy forum!!

maelduin • March 20, 2019 4:38 PM GMT You didn't post anything racist Budd.

Yes he did ….Budd has been posting racist statements since the start of the presenting percy thread ,  as has impossible. The problem is that YOU never see it or realise it.

The references to chips on shoulders, irish money ….. (no sane person), decent Irish horses ...not great ones …. etc etc if you care to go back and read them evidence this.  You will find brief and commonplace  indignities, mostly intentional , which communicate derogatory or negative slights and insults.

"PP is badly priced" was the classic, associating the word "bad" with the horse. Wasn't PP who put up the price , it was the bookmakers. They were the only "bad" ones for pricing him so "bad".

As for "having an agenda".... ….Only agenda I had was to try and give you good information from a stable in order that people profit from it and if you had followed the advice you would have profited from it.

Then somewhat amazingly , a person who writes quite intelligently , sophie , comes on and suggests collaboration by the (perceived) majority against the minority can solve the problem. Then she (or he) states they aren't all that intelligent ? . Using majority power to quash minorities ?

Unfortunately what this shows is that the racism is institutional.

I have been to the Cheltenham Festival for twenty years and have never experienced racism of any kind whatsoever. I have traded horses throughout Ireland to and from people from all over the world and never experienced racism. To see it on here is very disappointing.
Report buddeliea March 21, 2019 10:28 AM GMT
Let me clarify as it seems you are confused.
I said PP was badly priced as imo he was, and made no reference to him being a bad horse or being Irish trained was why he was badly priced.
The reason I mentioned chips on the shoulder stuff was because of the nature of your rather defensive reactions to various comments re Percy’s price and campaign.
Their were many posts where I stated that I could not care less where a horse was trained,it’s all about finding winners at Cheltenham.....British or irish, those posts seem to have conveniently been forgotten.
Looking back it seems that the person who has brought the racist stuff into all this is actually you.

So racism would be a perfect thing for a collective to take a stand against and is a great illustration of what I am trying to get across. Irish believes certain posters on here are racist and it is very clear that he (will stick with this for now just to save time) cares very passionately about this. I suspect this forum does not condone racism and that many would feel it has no place on this forum.

What I am suggesting (and this example is an adjective - I am not commenting on whether I do or do not agree these posters are racist) is that if the forum did feel Irish was right it should take a collective stand against racists rather than leave Irish and ‘the racists’ to battle this out.

This is not about majority and minority. My favourite film of all time is 12 angry men.  The 13 and 2 example was an example of how peers can influence other peers to make better choices. I could also provide an example where a minority influenced a majority but the point would be identical.

This is about taking a collective (However big or small that collective is) stand over a behaviour or set of behaviours that are having a detrimental affect on people’s enjoyment of this forum. It could be that a minority influences a majority it has nothing to do with the numbers. For example Irish you and a few others through your posts on racism could influence a broader cultural shift, my experience of life tells me that shifts like this tend to happen when more and more people stand together to provide support to the originator.

That’s the theory. My personal view which incidentally is completely irrelevant is I am far from convinced that Budd is a racist. The traveller comment I fully admit went over my head initially but if it meant ‘travelling people’then I for one am very happy to take a stand against such comments as I personally do believe that is a racist comment and I personally believe there is absolutely no place for comments like that on here. If others agree ibeleive they should support Irish and collectively say that’s not acceptable and that is not what This forum that we all own stands for.

This doesn’t have to be about quashing anything or stifling anything it is about folks rallying around to make this forum better rather than see it gradually deteriorate to a shadow of its past glories which is what people seem to think is happening. If this forum took a stand against racism for example (just an adjective) I would see that as a good thing.

I have read very good posters from memory one was Harry and one was Cyclops (apologies if I have got this wrong)who stated they were turned off by what has been happening. I think that’s a shame as they both would clearly enrich the forum if they posted more. If I received feedback from them and others telling me my posts were dissuading them from getting involved in a thread I would make an effort to change.

Thanks for your replies gentlemen

Not sure this is the right place to continue a racism discussion so I have p m 'd budd separately asking him to explain his final comment above

lets get back to the horses eh ?

Hello fellas.  Largely taken the year off from racing, but looked in on here every now and then but not posted anything.  I really enjoyed Cheltenham this year because I never had a penny on antepost - it felt like the old days getting a copy of the racing post and picking your horses out in the morning, with little or no knowledge of who they are.

I'm normally a 90% anteposter and 10% on the day betting, but the last few years I've had that much on antepost that it sort of takes away the enjoyment because there's so much riding on just one or two bets, and it's more pure relief if one comes in.

Over the last couple of years, the domination of Mullins has spoilt it a bit for me too (nothing to do with his nationality!!), largely  with me being an antepost punter his multiple entries right up to the week of the festival, late switches, supplementing etc (plus a general lack of value in antepost markets these days); plus I think the season is far too centred around Cheltenham now - big meetings in the winter are now just seen as warm up races when they are huge races in their own right.

This festival was a breath of fresh air with winners coming from loads of different yards, with no one yard/jocky combination dominating which has to be a good thing.  Paisley Park was a great winner, but I secretly was willing the old boy Faugheen up the hill.  Al Boum Photo was a really good Gold Cup winner, and I was delighted to see Brisol de Mai put up a good Cheltenham performance.

Espoir D'Allen seems really under rated to me - the easiest Champion Hurdle winner I've seen in ages, and for a 5 year old to do that was some performance.  We'll never know with Beveur D'air taking a tumble, but I get the feeling he wouldn't have gotten anywhere near him.  Klassical Dream and City Island look good prospects, but until they run next year, we have no idea what their level is now.

Altior is without doubt the superstar of the sport - his toughness is amazing, and I'd love to see him go up in trip next year.  Whether he'd get 3m2f, I'm not sure and I'd hate to see him in a Ryanair.  Whilst he is great, he is still nowhere near Sprinter in my eyes, but you simply can't knock him at all.  I used to love Big Bucks - I'll be a little bit gutted if/when Altior beats his record, but records are there to be broken.

All roads to Aintree now - I'm there on Thursday and looking forward to it.  Will hopefully post next season, but if the 'Dominance of Ireland' thread is anything to go by, I might not!!  Ps - my 3,000 odd posts on here are solely on the Cheltenham forum, and although I have no idea who he is, Budd is the last person I would accuse of saying anything out of order.  If it came across that way I'm sure it wasn't meant.

Thanks Chief, much appreciated.

Nice to see you on here again, and could not agree more on your thoughts about the festival.

Think it was possibly the most enjoyable festival I can remember, and your point about a breath of fresh air regards winners from different yards is spot on for me.

Plenty to look forward to for sure mate.
