FFS aint nothin sacred .Commercialism(money) talks Boodles(who the fook are they) not happy they where the sponsor and never got a mention
That's the problem. If Boodles (a very posh jeweller -- add a zero to your first guess when the name pops up on Antiques Roadshow) had been mentioned then OP might know who they are. You can see why they might be a tad miffed.
For me this is a long-standing problem -- need of sponsors for coverage versus racing fans' attachment to the old names -- and has an obvious solution that can be nicked from football. Provide a logo-splashed area for interviews with owners, trainers and jockeys, rather than have snatched interviews against a backdrop of the crowd or wherever they happen to be when a microphone is shoved under their nose. Have connections go straight from presentation to interviews.
Make it a condition of licences that jockeys and trainers cooperate, but also that the media does, and in return ends the practice of cornering jockeys before they've weighed in. OK there will be tweaks needed but you get the picture.
