No horse out of the 132 runners in the last 10 years has fallen in the stayers hurdle probably even more amazing is only 2 out of 164 in the supreme novice and 2 out of 111 in the Ryanair.

I must have bet the last faller then - Black Jack Ketchum? Very strange as I mentioned that horse earlier!!

2/1 fav fell at the 3rd in 2007
feb 10th 2006 a good crowd turned up at bangor on dee to watch the two best novice hurdlers around black jack ketcham who had won the grade 2 bristol novice hurdle at cheltenham and denman who was an impressive winner of the challow hurdle ran at cheltenham ,bjk was forecast to go of favorite at around 8/11 sadly bjk was declared a non runner,denman went on to finish 2nd at the festival in the sun alliance hurdle,bjk went on to win the spa hurdle by 9 lengths {albert bartlett}and then went on to win the grade one sefton at liverpool ending the season as the top staying novice hurdler.
the rest as they say is history.
