why is 14/1 a crazy price? hasn't run for a year and needs to step up on all known form, he should be much bigger in my book

His only entry?

Am I missing something here? Is Bacardys, Augusta Kate, Bapaume, Let's Dance etc........ not entered?

As for Penhill he has still not been seeing since getting beaten at Punchestown last year, that has to be a big worry.

he has got a chance dragon your right but his form needs improving upon and we haven't seen him, so 14/1 for me is not an attractive price, however good luck with the wager, i quite like barcardys (haven't bet him) he also needs to improve on all known form, the race is not an appealing betting medium to me at this stage

'On form Penhill would have a chance' and Harry what form are you referring to?

How could you possibly think a horse that won a novice hurdle at Cheltenham and hasn't run for a year would have a chance. In my opinion you are throwing away money!!

This horse is a big baby .
couldn't jump hurdles for toffee previous year
albert bartlett aint a bad guide beat monalee and wholestone
trained for the melbourne cup last summer
didn't go due to training setback
was 20's on here two weeks ago after being backed in previously to about 16s then drifted out
the money has come for it again after unconfirmed report of a niggle
battling horse loves a stiff finish , won't be surprised

Boys it hasn't ran since last year. You can't compare novice form into open company until they run. No way Penhill should be this short

not often you see a horse win a big race at the Festival after setbacks during the season, things clearly haven't been right, you need to be spot on to win these races

It has been suggested (can't remember where -- perhaps in the Post) the Penhill-mania started with rumours that owner and celebrity mega-punter Tony Bloom was trying to buy a box at Cheltenham, because nothing says perfectly executed, long-term plan better than last-minute scrabbling for tickets.

Haha. Exactly what I thought Ramruna. And as if you wouldn't want to go and watch the horse you own run at the Cheltenham Festival? Tony Booom is hardly going to be lolling around the Best Mate enclosure is he.

Am I right in saying no Albert Bartlett winner has even gone on to win the Stayers Hurdle?

Granted a fair few of them would have gone novice chasing the next season but the likes of Black Jack Ketchum, Wichita Lineman, At Fishers Cross, Martello Tower, Berties Dream and Uknowhatimeanharry where all beaten in the next seasons Stayers Hurdle.

It's probably a useless stat seen as some of them would have ran into great staying hurdlers in Inglis Drever and Big Bucks but interesting all the same.

Kealy on a preview said the owner who is a big gambler was trying to buy a box at the Festival the day he runs.

He was making out this owner is a Real Pro, the Head Honcho, the Big Cheese, the King, the Numero Uno, the Master of The Universe, the Real Deal.

Be warned.
