Bits and pieces still running but the make or break will be if Samcro makes it to the starting tapes in the Ballymore; check every day expecting to see a season ending injury announced

Mixed for me: Some of these bets are dead already. Every year I say I'm not going to bet AP next year, and every year I get suckered in!

one wonders what percentage of this years cheltenham
winners are not even quoted yet if you said 30% it would be low in my experience then if you ask that percentage of those quoted will actually run in the races they are quoted for and then you ask what chance it has actually got of winning.... 8 weeks out ???? .... |

Same as Bluebidfan........Dreading the news....Wish me luck
Moses......(Any hurdle race) up to 400 Johnson .....200 to 400 Coe.....800 to 1500 All......NRNB |

Irishone - don't be such a negative nancy. AP betting is great fun if you do most of your bets NRNB (365 also BOG) and keep your stakes to a minimum. What's not to like? Your horse isn't going to run if he is not 100% so the variable risks are competition and ground. Outside of the handicaps nearly all possible winners are quoted, so you can see the competition right now. And as you can see nearly all of the AP bets mentioned so far are non-handicaps. Give these guys some credit.
My best AP is a small treble running onto Footpad (Arkle) and Samcro (Ballymore) which will pay me 80/1 if it comes in. I got to scream for Footpad at Leopardstown without even having a bet on him that day. If your horse loses in the run-up to Cheltenham (lots of those) so be it but you still have a chance he runs/wins. To me it's great fun and entertainment and i don't understand why the chat boards are full of people knocking it. Keep it simple and keep bets to a minimum. If you're a heavy hitter then ignore all of the above. GL |

Supreme: Mengli Khan (post mishap)
Arkle: Footpad (any race) Champion H: Faugheen (very iffy runner) Mares: Apple's Jade Neptune: Samcro (joined the hype) RSA: Yanworth/Finian's Oscar Champion Chase: Altior/Yorkhill (nrnb) JLT: Death Duty (loser) Ryanair: Yorkhill (nrnb) Stayers: Uno/Beer Goggles/Yanworth (nrnb) Gold Cup: Sizing John/Might Bite/Our Duke/Empire Of Dirt Several large singles, doubles/trebles/trixies and accas. At present one is lost, very probably Faugheen will suffer a similar fate. But expecting more come race days - the perils of betting antepost. |

Doesn't back Mullins horses ante-post!
I've only three so far, which I'm very pleased about as I've managed to pretty much stick to my resolution not to, all in the Summer. Fox Norton QMCC Melon CHurdle Mite Bite CGC Win singles and an e/w trixie. |

mael i am not anti antepost
just stating facts i am on two so far native river which is being trained for the race and whiskey sour . i happen to believe far more in the reality of the owners intentions than guesses |

My AP portfolio improved markedly today. Having added Getabird at 8/1 any race (grrrr, bottled the 16 for the Supreme!), he bolted up at Punchestown.
Also the aforementioned above 33 on Fountains Windfall is looking better. Just hoping his jumping keeps holding up! |

can't find anything that stands out yet in which to place a proper wager but am working on it...
although i will say i have been in mystic winds camp in regards the triumph hurdle for quite a while, i just can't bring myself to have a bet until all the jigsaw pieces are in place...looking at some of the lists on here some people are already looking on the back foot to me and is the reason why i like to have an unbiased opinion going into the meeting i have one ew yankee for fun but i don't hold out much hope, however i like a stab at one just to see if i can win the shop Yankee (x22) Each Way Arkle Chase - Each Way Footpad 6/1 E/W Terms: 1/5 Odds | 3 Places Champion Hurdle 2018 - Each Way Yorkhill 12/1 E/W Terms: 1/5 Odds | 3 Places Ballymore Novices Hurdle 2018 - Each Way Samcro 9/2 E/W Terms: 1/5 Odds | 3 Places Gold Cup 2018 - Each Way Might Bite 8/1 E/W Terms: 1/5 Odds | 3 Places hopefully might bite and footpad could at least run a place and get near the stake back |

Jb23, any more? I hope you can keep track of all of them. Good luck!

By:
Some good ones in there alright !!!
|
By:
Certainly not a big stakes punter and abit of a baseball stats nerd. I just like looking for things which appear over priced and under valued!
I123- Ha! My Antepost spreadsheet with a coffee at work is my pride and joy! No doubt there will be a foot & mouth virus which wipes out half of my investments! |
By:
Foot and mouth,...there will be no Cheltenham without a doubt. But you do have some good ones which will see you thro' to the end of the Festival.
|
By:
Cracking price on Movewiththetimes. Could take some holding off that mark. I'd say connections could target that race aswell considering they went close in it 2 years ago.
|
By:
Some nice prices before now:
By far biggest bet 80/1 Might Bite. Sidebet Blaklion, each-way Buveur D'air, 2/1 before question mark against Faugheen Willoughby Court, Apples Shakira, Un De Sceaux (Patent) Little bet 9/1 Foxrock, narrowly got nod over tongue-tied Wonderful Charm Large price each-way Beer Goggles Just added Waterlord, Supreme, too at 25/1 365. Think will be close in the betting Haydock Saturday with Claimantakingforgan and that's only 8/1 best for the opener at Cheltenham this year. Close between pair Saturday and gulf in odds dramatically contract |

19 Dec 17 17:02 Joined: 25 Aug 11 | Topic/replies: 23,517 | Blogger: woodmanchester's blog Now's the time of year I usually make my opening gambit on the Cheltenham Festival and no different this Faugheen cost me the chance of a small fortune in the Champion Hurdle with loads of free, accumulated ante-post bets this year, but injured and never turned up. Still trying to make it pay at 5/2 now but the play could have been, just as easily, equally impressive 2/1 Buveur D'Air hmmm Woody, so is it Faugheen or Buveur D'air you backed for the Champion Hurdle ?? |
By:
One free bet Faugheen but Buveur on 3 doubles and a treble
|
By:
...in a UNION JACK with a non runner ?
|
By:
He pops up everywhere after me, without fail!
|
By:
Waterlord ran okay for a long way before dropping away tamely. Prompted me to cash out for Cheltenham for small loss and jump ships onto today's winner 42.0 First Flow. Will surely be totally conditions in March but Flow did it very nicely today
|
By:
Kim Bailey said on ITV straight after the race that First Flow was probably done for the year and wouldn’t be going anywhere near Cheltenham
|
By:
Oh well, looks like £1.25 down the drain!
|
By:
Anyway, seemed pointless running Flow in the Supreme trial then
Finished for the season? I'd have thought still early days! |
By:
Piss off you mug ^

Woodmanchester - head over to the fatjockey forum you'll fit right in. Phucking place has been hijacked by two imbeciles who post incessantly. That was my go to place for years and now it's unreadable.

Can't disagree maelduin, the two of them have singlehandedly ruined it.
