Football, LCFC, let's just say I managed to turn a big payout into a pretty big one when I ducked out in the last month. I'm a fairly small staking punter who likes to dream with big odds - your stake suggests you've got bigger balls than mine! I placed a few quid on a Thistlecrack / Douvan double last Feb that looks great on paper at the moment, but will mean nothing if they don't get there fit on the day, so fingers crossed for Saturday. Best of luck to you.

I'm sitting in four big accumalors, three leading into Alitor and Thistlecrack and one leading onto Alitor and Douvan.

If they turn up, they win. Obviously the main worry is if they turn up (injury) - specifically Altior :-(

Unowhatimeanharry (6/1), Churchill (12/1 Guineas/8/1 Derby), Rhododendron (7/1), Altior (2/1 and 5/1), Death Duty (3/1 and 8/1), Cue Card (7/1), Finian's Oscar (6/1), Getabird (8/1): all in singles, 1st 3 in a £1 trixie, several 4/5/6 folds of various stakes.

1st battle is hoping they all show up, the rest is a bonus especially if/when some win.

When you say first 3 in a trixie do you mean you have Churchill twice? Think you might be disappointed with the payout if it comes off.
Fortunately there is no chance of Churchill winning the Derby.

Uno, Churchill (2000G) and Rhododendron (1000G) in a trixie; we shall see about Churchill (8/1) in the Derby - I do like his temperament and also he's been backed. I'm on also Capri (20/1) who's been friendless in the Derby market as a saver and to trade. If Churchill shows up (2000g) he'll be 1/1 on the day of the race (without Caravaggio who I have backed at 8/1); if he shows up for the Derby he'll 6/4 or less, I believe.

What if he runs as well in the Guineas as the odds on favourite did last year?Devil

C'est la vie, just take it on the chin - no big deal; it is part and parcel of horse racing and not the be-all-end-all...I do have others to look forward to as well. Nevertheless, I take comfort in that Churchill is not by War Front. I'm hoping for a juvenile classic double ie 1000G/2000G and Oaks/Derby to better 2016 by one.

IF they turn up they win - are you for real m8 - it is the festival you know and thistlecrack is a novice ????

a £3000 treble on altior douvan and thistlecrack is the worst bet i have ever heard in my life

Only a small bet on Harzand in the Arc (has never been a betting race for me) but Minding and Almanzor on Champions Day put that right many times over; this is only a game to me. Of course, the financial reward helps but the vindication of one's judgement is the buzz which entices me for more. Win or lose, as long as the horses return safe and sound. Last year, the loss of No More Heroes and then the injury to Don Cossack (DC) saddened me more than the win from DC in the Gold Cup.

Only a small bet on Harzand?. Are you sure about that Impossible because I could have sworn when I read the Arc thread that there were quite a few you backed, maybe even ten?

I don't think Found was among them though.Perhaps I'm all confused and my apologies if I'm wrong, and the Arc has indeed never been a betting race for you.

Ouch. This game never surprises.
But @ least he could have got his stake back @ around 1.5 Altior leaving a fantastic freebie. Providing greed hasnt got in the way.
it usually does

Very bad luck that roger i feel for you mate!

This game is a game of chance, a risk that we all choose to make as long as people keep within their means and only gamble what one can afford to lose. People have varying pocket sizes so for some a 3k treble may well just be £300 to some, or a £30 to others. Well it is a £30 for me, affordable and not a miss, still though i would be absolutely gutted Cry had i had this bet.

Good luck with any other bets you have mate and hope you can still enjoy your festival Wink
