Race form can tell you things you never knew about a horse but a little bit of information can go a long way.
When don was a rising star he ran in a novice hurdle at Navan on the 24th feb 2013.connections knew nothing could beat it,but that day they got the fright of their lives as the race unfolded ,il say no more other than repeat that a little bit of information can go a long way.Grin

Brassneck, your post defies logic.

Well Brassneck, your information is incorrect as there was no racing at Navan on that day

It was Naas.

I presume you're talking about Annie Power being in the field?
The rest is hard to understand, given that Don Cossack was joint second fav that day so they were hardly entertaining Annie Power as an angel unawares.

the horses did not know what price they were.
I wonder what you will all say if Annie turns up in the gold cup this year.
And it is quite possible because Willie will be sending faugheen or annie chasing.

Annie was not favourite either.so they did not know.no matter what is said the result is there for all to see.
but ANNIE will do her own talking and her own record breaking.
what did they say?the fastest champion hurdle winner ever in the history of the race.LaughLaughLaughLaugh

Don't get me wrong; Annie is a truly great mare. But to allege that the Don Cossack camp was supremely confident on that occasion seems odd, as he came into it on the back of the most bizarre fall you could see, when he jumped the last hurdle well and then did a somersault on the run-in. Over two miles next time out, I imagine they were hopeful, rather than confident.
But, yes, amazing that a future Gold Cup winner and Champion Hurdler both ran in that race.

I'd be absolutely amazed if Annie Power is aimed at the Gold Cup, why? She's just too fragile, and as a 9yr old (2017) is too old to be campaigned over fences - she is also the most loved horse of all by her owner. I think Annie Power will either take in the Champion Hurdle (if sound), and Faugheen is likely for the World Hurdle, I'd imagine, as Annie Power does not stay 3m run at a strong pace.

A likely runner in the Gold Cup from the same connections could well be Vroum Vroum Mag as she's very versatile over hurdles and fences, and also stays 3m really well along with Djakadam, his 3rd campaign given Don Cossack a doubtful runner after his injury; Vautour will once again go for the King George at Kempton and the Ryanair, I'd think.

the temptation for Willie to send Annie chasing is always there because all the boys would be giving her a half a stone mare's allowance should she be aimed at the gold cup ,but as you say mag would get the same allowance'but mag is not a patch on Annie.

And on the one and only race Annie run over 3 mile (second)she had being fitted with ear plugs and spent most of the race pulling for her head to dislodge them.She still finished 2nd and there were a few 3 mile stayers behind her.on her other defeat she fell at the last with the race at her mercy.
Annies form
RUNS =17
WINS=15
LOSSES=2(FALLING AT THE LAST FENCE 4 LENGTHS CLEAR ,AND UNSETTLED IN THE OTHER ONE)
any ruby blames himself for both defeats in private.

Any horse being aimed at the WH will have to cross their proverbial fingers that Thistlecrack takes to fences.
