1. analyse all the runners. don't just focus on the big names- all the hype will surround them, and their form will have been analysed to death. try to look for horses that may have slipped under the radar. Remember that any horse running at cheltenham will be a very good horse.
2. Don't go in too heavily on day one and do your entire bankroll. You'll pick up ideas and trends on the first day that can be used for the rest of the meeting.
3. Don't be discouraged if the horse has had bad form during the winter. Horses are often revitalized by the better ground and a bit of sun on their back.
