Cue Card. Whole festival is built around it. Big e/w single at probably an average of about 13.5 and lost of doubles and trebles at smaller stakes but could end up being big if the other leg(s) come in. Most exciting of those is probably a £1.25 ew trixie, (Cue Card 10/1) with Identity Thief (25/1) and Thistlecrack (8/1).

1. Cue Card

I've got a load of other bets (Min, Killer Crow, Sempre Medici, Southfield Royale, Yanworth, Thistlecrack, Cause of Causes, Smart Talk, All Yours and Barters Hill) but they all pale into insignificance to be honest. I need at least a place from Cue Card.

Didnt mean prices scoob... but who were giving you the best return overall.

Regardless of prices, That's the 10 that will give me the best return out of all mine.

A huge proportion of my book is based around Road to Riches in the Ryanair. I'd be gutted if he doesn't run, and with the money that's come for Valseur Lido in the last few days, I fear I have done my money.

Outside of that:

1. Tombstone in the Supreme (in w/out Min, so I'd be happy if he was second to Min)
2. Black Hercules. Backed him for any race ages ago and topped up for the JLT
3. No More Heroes: Backed him that day of the Albert Bartlett last year

Others such as Un De Sceaux, Roi de Francs, Top Notch, Footpad and Outlander would be decent winners too.

Betting aside (although I have backed him), I just love Cue Card and really want him to win the Gold Cup. If Sprinter can win the QMCC, the roof will come off the main stand too.

My 6 of the best.

Min - Different speed, best Novice ive seen in years travel, jump and stay in awful ground.
Douvan - Monster, gets the landing gear out well to correct himself, nothing in the race to get anywhere near him.
UDS - Jumps a clear round from the front to collect again, few might take him on and upset him but after 3 fences he'll be away and gone.
Limini - Love this mare, got some engine, hasnt jumped great but i think should could make 3/4 slight errors here and still win from what ive seen of the rest.
Don Poli - Why hes not favourite i dont know, just done enough the last twice but he'll be a diff horse coming off a strong pace up that hill, will win 6/1 unreal EW
Ivanovich Gorbatov - forget its last run/put line through it, very weak race/field and if he does what he done when he won on better ground he'll win, not too sure about zubayr's jumping at Kempton, faster pace on better ground might find it out imho.

Had my biggest ever bet on On The Fringe, when it became apparent that the 2nd fave was coming out.

Had a decent amount on Sizing Granite e/w in the C/Chase, and Nichols in the C/H, too.

Just Thistlecrack at this stage.

Echo the comments about Cue Card (won a Bumper, 4th in a stellar Supreme, 2nd in the Arkle to a monster, won a Ryanair standing on his head, now goes for Gold Cup and £1m bonus, all Grade 1s - and this time last year it looked like the game might be up for him).What's not to like?

Having said all of that though, I think I might cry if Balthazar King wins - and I won't have a penny on him!

Yeah I know the feeling mate. I had a good treble with faugheen Annie power and douvan @ 7/4 6/4 and 3/1 a good while back plus my umpteen doubles and trebles with Annie in the mares but it's gone now and that's life lol

Annie at 2.34 on Dec 16. Price is irrelevant if it doesn't run though. Also laid Faugheen and Douvan at similar prices so only one potential payout now.

I laid all them three on the same day too haha, how weird. Will be backing Douvan back on Tues. 1.6 is about the best I can hope for tho

I am happy to hold my lay on Douvan. It should win if it completes, but 2 miles round Cheltenham with all the crowds and build up is a massive test of temperament and jumping for a novice. I might try to get out even if it makes an early mistake and stands up.

I laid him at 1.93. No chance i'm letting it run. Either get out in the morning or leave up I/R. Lay to back was always the plan

Cheers Delsie - was at least hoping to have a run for my money, but I was aware that it was a very risky bet to begin with, so only myself to blame.

Backed him at 16/1, 12/1, 8/1 and to place at 3/1.  Got him in a nice double with Thistlecrack at 8/1 and Thistle 2/1.

I know this is pure pocket talking, but if there was one to go the Ryanair between him and Valseur, it should definitely be RTR, although in an ideal world all 4 would go Gold Cup.

Valseur was stuffed in the JLT (Ryanair distance), then after Cheltenham by Gilgamboa (Ryanair distance) and then this year by Djakadam (Ryanair distance).  When stepped up to 3m, his only poor run has been in the King George.

Road to Riches had his chance in the Gold Cup (didn't get his ground I know), but has won over the Ryanair trip this year very comfortably, and although winning a couple of G1 3m chases, he has ran twice at the very top level and has been beaten on both occasions.

I'm hoping they'd put both in, but Felix Yonger going for it is the final nail in the coffin I suspect as Saint Ruby will be on him.  If RTR was in the Ryanair, Ruby would have got the spare ride on VL and there would be no need for Felix.

Managed to get rid of my singles on RTR last night on here at 8's, but reinvested at 7/2 NRNB, so effectively got 9/1 NRNB now, so made up with that. Still got the place bet running and the good Thistlecrack double, but no squeeky bum time now.

He price has come in over the last 12 hrs so maybe not as cut and dry as I thought.
