We want to win the Gold Cup," he said, "and if for whatever reason Vautour wasn't going to run in the Gold Cup he would stay at home."

Ricci gave no indication that Vautour's preparation for Cheltenham was causing an issue.

William Hill rate Vautour 4-1 joint favourite for the Gold Cup alongside Don Cossack, one point shorter than Cue Card and Djakadam, runner-up in the race last year to Coneygree.

Victory for either Ricci horse would supply trainer Willie Mullins with a first Gold Cup win.

Actually 2 options: Gold Cup or stay at home. Quite possibly the latter if rumours are to be believed.

odds on for the race in many books ,once its out they use the excuse to slaughter the prices ,no value in race with the books with it in and be a race to avoid once out ,jokers .

has a bad smell to it ,used to be a good betting heat many years ago but  been turned into a nasty race for backers .

vatour is 4/6 with some and 25 on here

I love Vautour, but I hope he is not cheered into the winners enclosure.

They must have nicked my comments from yesterday about the wall of silence. I hope they kept in the suggestion that the parade ring turn their backs as well.

its risky but not for mugs...ive had some right touches, notably rodrigo de triano for the 2000 guineas at 33-1 down to 6-1....bought a new car and buggered off to barbados for a fortnight

Ante post was once the life blood of the game. Not because you always called it right but because it was the sign of the orchestra coming to their seats, tuning their instruments and readying themselves for the performance. As with all things the past is a different country where they do things differently. Ante post died. Mullins and Ricci set fire to the funeral pyrrh. I will be willing their horses to lose from this point onwards and I fervently hope whatever they truly desire, be it Gold Cup or whatever, that it remains beyond their reach. They know the price of everything and the value of nothing.

Vautour was 5/4 for the Ryanair a few moments ago! I think it should be 2/5 . Is there something wrong with the horse?

like footie  lifeblood of  the game are the punters treated badly was only a matter of time that they would spit out the dummy .
be interesting if Vautour  ..wins that they turn on owner and trainer after the event .. already feel sorry for the ANIMAL ..
REAP WHAT YOU SOW COMES TO MIND .. ..a lesson learned today and enough is  ENOUGH  ..........................no pocket talk as never bet the horse ...........................................thinking of again,,,,,, a sport dominated by others,,,,, for GAIN ...
