I think you may have been a bit hasty calling people mugs. The official weights that came out yesterday have already removed horses that did not meet the necessary rating or number of runs requirement. Theatre Guide is still in the Kim Muir but if you notice the weight he has been allocated, it is 12-3 to account for the fact he is rated 150 against a ceiling of 145. I believe he is still allowed to run as his win came after the original entries. The same thing happened a few years back with Hunt Ball who carried who's rating increased to 142 in the novice handicap chase (ceiling was 140) after he won at Kempton too. He carried 12-0 to victory.

It looks like I was right about mug punters for the wrong reason, but if the race criteria are only checked at the entry stage, how do they account for the Irish horses most of whom don't have official ratings in Britain until the weights are released?
