Reckon it has to be linked to his incident at the last at Leopardstown. At the time my immediate thought was that looks like a muscle injury incident. Must have jarred something or pulled a muscle. Great shame. No financial interest but really liked the horse.

Get it back when it makes its comeback in the Paddy Power off 153 or something daft. One plus side of missing the spring festivals is that novices tend not to get their marks ruined by running well in a big race. Obviously the festival will be poorer without him and the above is scant consolation for those involved. Outlander looking much more likely to run in JLT now. You'd have to fancy him for it.

No financial interest but sad news for those who held tasty AP vouchers. I just want to see the best horses running.
Apart from rank outsiders, virtually all of the AP value has gone. Wait for NRNB on all races, or the enhanced prices that will be offered on race day even if it is only to £50.

Agree ,bad luck to those who had decent AP prices. But we all know that's not going to be the last one, always happens as trainers build up horses to concert pitch.

I had 14s so yeah gutted but got to look at the bigger picture that it happens every year hence why a book is the way to go. Don't want to lose anymore out of the race but have BDM 16s, outlander 25s, GLV 16s and Zabana at 20s left. So still plenty of room for any potential steamers on the day. Dear God, OK, you got your way again and kill-ed vic Please don't ruin anyone else's dreams before the fez Amen

had 3 horses as the cornerstone of my ap bets including mulitples as well - two of the 3 were TF at all prices down fom 50s and bigger on here and KV at all the 'any race' fancy prices both to win big money. If any one out there has got the 3rd horse (that i am not going to tempt fate and name) i will apologise now - i am jinxed and fear i have jinxed it for the rest of you just got home from taking daughter to footie and saw this and now trying to not let her see a grown man cry.

Bristol De Mai looks a shoe in and strongly fancied him to win before the defection. So when he wins on the snaff you can console yourselves that Vic wouldn't have won anyway .
Seriously though I have only had 2 ante post bets to small stakes (BDM & Don Poli) as year after year I back non runners. The worst was backing Binocular @ big prices for the Triumph only to see him re-routed and be runner up in the Supreme

I'm a big BDM fan but surely there is a big worry about him on decent ground? I think he looks a very beatable favourite now. I'm surprised Outlander isn't heading the betting...

I agree tomdeane, think he's susceptible and I think the betting should have the other two around.
I still think Zabana can go well at a big price, I'm willing to put his bad run down to the ground last weekend.

Gutted over KV but unfortunately that's the perils of AP punting, you try and get a price at the expense of any number of variables going wrong so far out. You would imagine with most horses having already had their final run that % wise there won't be too many more defections but who knows. One thing for sure is that there will be very little real value to be had in AP markets, apart from the hcaps, from next week on as the form book will be laid bare.
