Thistlecrack is a monster
Physically a big slab of a hoss

Djackdam cant win the gc
Statistically no hoss that has fallen in the season wins the gc
Historically speaking (last 30 years at least )

Yanworth looks a worthy fav for the Neptune

The triumph hurdle looks an Irish benefit

Its not looking good for the Mullins camp (re the above)

Wink

That star re falling and Djakadam is one stat I would gladly take on.......if the price is right!!
Report rogerthebutler January 31, 2016 6:02 PM GMT
Mr Mulligan did

Kauto unseated
Report Arklearkle February 1, 2016 12:29 PM GMT
Yes Mr Mulligan and Dawn Run unseated and was remounted so the stats not so bad considering the small sample. Wouldnt worry about a normally safe jumper but would worry about hurdlers falling lto at the festival. Not certain we have enough evidence that Djakadam is a safe jumper. Made a mistake in the Hennessy as far as I can remember.

Would not be all bothered about the jumping of Dkadam if I was thinking of backing him,but I would be concerned re his prep now.
Report wellchief February 1, 2016 5:30 PM GMT
Yeah, I was keen on Djakadam and liked his quiet prep this year after a tough year last year.

However, now since April he has ran for about 4 miles on a racecourse (2.5m and then fell after about 1.5m) and then straight to the Gold Cup after a fall which required stitches?

Couldn't go near him after that now.

it might give them a reason/excuse to run Djakadam in the Ryanair.
Report Can't Catch Me February 1, 2016 6:21 PM GMT
Said the exact same thing earlier Rease. Sure Ruby would be delighted with that as well.
Report wellchief February 1, 2016 6:22 PM GMT
Wasn't entered was he? They'd have to supplement him.
Report scooby91 February 1, 2016 6:23 PM GMT
Djakadam not entered for the Ryanair.  Was also my first thought. Goes gold cup
Report scooby91 February 1, 2016 6:24 PM GMT
Apologies well chief, diddnt see that when posted.
Report ReaseHeath February 1, 2016 6:26 PM GMT
ah, I'd overlooked that they did n't enter him, makes it less likely but still would n't totally discount it - especially if the Ryanair continues to cut up.
Report wellchief February 1, 2016 6:27 PM GMT
No worries, nobody reads my posts anyway Laugh

Fwiw, I think Djakadam's demolition job over 2.5m is the best 2.5m performance this year.  I think they'll miss the Gold Cup and get him spot on for the Punchestown Gold Cup, possibly taking in the Aintree Bowl too.  Just a hunch.
Report scooby91 February 1, 2016 6:28 PM GMT
Hope not but a very small possibility just think rich keeps going on about how he wants to win the gold cup. So as long as he can run I think he certainly will

Yep, they're good thoughts too - although his preference for soft ground might be an issue come April/May.

Probably overthinking it, if they're happy with him Gold Cup still most likely
