d day on Saturday for this highly progressive Robert walford trained gelding ,impressive when winning the relkeel hurdle at Cheltenham over 2.4 miles he steps into unknown territory when tacking world hurdle fav thistlecrack and co in the 3m plus cleeve hurdle . on breeding there is a doubt as he is by goldenev who was a 10f horse and his dam camomile who was a miler so a big doubt about ability to get 3m+ but if he does then he is a fair price at around 10s on here ,of course he may be exposed as a non stayer by Saturday afternoon but its worth remembering he finished in front of thistlecrack in a sandown handicap giving that horse lumps of weight , thistlecrack has undoubtably improved but this fella has hasn't gone backwards and if he gets the trip then must have a fighting chance in the world hurdle . a good run or if he were to lower the colours of the fav at the weekend then his price will collapse......... the trainer seems confidant he will get the trip and he won the relkeel on heavy ....but going by his breeding may well be suited to better ground which he is likely to get at the festival . a lot of ifs and buts but its what makes this game so interesting ............selection camping ground win and place at around 10.5 or better on here world hurdle good luck and feel free to add your views

sorry should reiterate camping ground the 9/1world hurdle with billys non runner no bet is the way to go ^^^^^^^^
9/1 with a 'run', and friendless in the market with the high street bookies; it beat Lil Rockefeller (151) and Cole Harden (164) by 11l and 20l receiving 4lbs and 8lbs respectively over 20f; the price is 2x that of Vroum Vroum Mag (beat a horse rated 130's), and Alpha Des Obeaux (152); it also gave 15lbs and 1.25l beating to Thistlecrack, the current fav for the WH.
The prevailing ground condition for Cheltenham at the weekend (soft/heavy) will suit Camping Ground and Thistlecack - the unknown is the 24f trip - but the trainer has sid it is not a concern. With that in mind, roll on saturday, I'm expecting a good display from Camping Ground based on its latest run against two seasoned campaigners.

yes impossible vvm ,s "sexy" form figures ,all those 1s next to her name and the mullins factor ,have seen her into a very short price for what she has actually achieved imo , may be wrong she may be the real deal but not for me at the price ......... camping ground has a bit to find with the fav thistlecrack on official ratings but the fav but not insurmountable giving his upward profile ,plus the insurance of nrnb makes him a risk worth taking,trainer is able given the right ammunition !
I agree Foyles, I think he is a good solid shout at 9/1.
There are question marks about all of those at the head of the market (Camping Ground included) but I think 9/1 NRNB is fair value. If he doesn't stay or runs a shocker at the weekend, then I doubt they'd run in the WH and save him for chases, and if he does run well, then he'll go off a good bit shorter.

The only reason they didnt run him in the King George on boxing day was due to a minor leg problem , do feel confident he will stay at w/e , though CH entry doesnt exactly give me much support , obviously a serious horse .
same here chief regarding the horse going unnoticed , it was only when I saw that pricewise had tipped him for the relkeel , and I mistook him for a heavily raced plodder who had been running at the gaffs , but after he hacked up I realised my mistake. think him being overlooked may be due to his relatively "unfashionable" trainer . horse has won 7 from 12 mainly in france on testing ground including one on the flat . and only a 6 yo so improvement likely ,just the ? over the trip which should be known one way or the other on saturday
The entry for the CH is in case the ground comes up bottomless which will no doubt inconvenience most of the principals, and Camping Ground with his pace and stamina could exploit it to the full.

Agree, did not stay, was going well until 2 out; possibly CH if extremely soft; Thistlecrack was awesome, a disylay in the same vein as Faugheen.
5/2 at Chisholms straight after the race, asked the cashier to be sure, stuck 40 on, took it no problems, went on me phone, decided sod it, another 60 saying was for a mate if you don't mind, took it, lucky 15 added with it, Yanworth neptune, altior supreme and kill vic jlt, took it

Very unlikely to run in the WH I'd imagine especially if the ground comes up soft/heavy, if so, the CH beckons. Otherwise might possibly stay the WH distance in good/firm ground and even run into a place behind Thistlecrack, here's hoping!
Aintree Hurdle seems to the obvious target now for Camping Ground. Champion Hurdle should only be considered if it come up truly heavy.
I think the jockey when interviewed said the horse was a bit keen early on and was a spent force 2 out (20f).

Wouldn't know the sort of field he'd be up against in the Aintree hurdle but I'd hazard a guess he'd be a touch outclassed that day, how would you think he'd get on against TNO, Arctic Fire,Nicholls Canyon etc.
They were mad not covering themselves with a Ryanair entry. Jumped fine until a blip at Huntingdon and looks the part too. I'd fancy him.

No Duffy I wouldn't expect him to beat those you mentioned but just think that would be his distance and give him his only chance of a big festival win (must admit I hadn't thought of the Ryanair as a possibility).
I believe Bet365 was offering just under 50% cash out yesterday on Camping Ground (nrnb) for the WH eg 450p for a £10 bet. Not unreasonable considering it is more likely to run here than in the Champion Hurdle, but unlikely to trouble the 'fav' if turning up here.

CG connections said they diddnt want to run in wh as they would be running for 2nd. Where as they felt the ch hurdle was an open race.
I accept that, but did connections not say the CH only if the ground was soft to heavy as it would be in CG favour but inconvenience the majority of the other runners? The ground on tuesday is likely to be only good/good to soft. Anyway, I wish connections best of luck and CG is at least placed.
