If Jonjo has him back to his best then he could obviously go to the top. I think after last season though I'll reserve judgement until we see what he does on the track.
If he can get over his injury problems he will be a big player, but as Shocks says, needs to be a watching brief first and could never be an antepost bet until you've seen him a couple of times back on the track

I am really interested in backing both more of that and Minella rocco but I have resisted at the moment due to race target, I can't see them lining up against each other in the RSA so maybe Minella rocco for the JLT??? Both exciting prospects going chasing and I remember an interview with AP when asked which horse will you most miss riding next year and his answer was more of that going novice chasing!

The stable seem to be making the right noises, and say chasing is on the agenda 16/1 could look big for RSA if impresses on debut alternatively if he barely jumps a twig I suppose rerouted back for a crack at the world hurdle and money down the swanny!..........

All JP wants to do is win one of the 3 big ones at Cheltenham. Given he doesn't have a decent GC hope it's no surprise he's going novice chasing. Really hope he's as good over fences.

Agreed chief. I've backed him for the RSA but haven't got very high hopes for tomorrow. Could see him having a pretty easy day and at the prices As du Mee looks interesting.

Is it just me or does there seem to be a tangible air of foreboding regarding the horses prospects this year.....hope it doesn't end up as another Iris's gift.

well he did win the world hurdle,so on that basis you could say he should be fav I guess. Still, nice start after the problems he's had. Prefer no more heroes at this stage myself.Looks a real RSA type.

I thought it stayed well enough in the Albert Bartlett, got chopped off just before or after the last and was unlucky in running, the ground was very soft aswell .

No problem with no more heroes staying in my opinion but the fact he may be ground dependant to a softer surface puts me off. More of that is a truly rancid price at 5 and 6/1 I'm expecting next years RSA to be a very hot race and beating a field where I don't expect any of them to be lining up in the race by a few lengths is surely not a reason for halveing in price? Think he has a good chance in the race but like I say potentially being a very competitive race he's no value for me now!

A lot on here seem to latch on to Jonjos horses, add to that we have a World Hurdle winner who has shown he can jump a fence, you then have the price he is. I agree he is not value right now,but he does look a threat to all for the RSA.

Looks like there could be a decent crop of staying novice chasers this year.
A World Hurdle winner, an Albert Bartlett first and third, and a Martin Pipe winner. No More Heroes and Black Hercules look like they'll improve a heap for jumping a fence - Black Hercules could be one at a price at 33's despite disappointing in the AB.

Have to say i had my very first Fez 2016 bet on MoT the other day, 6/1 for RSA and 6/1 for any race, i know which one i've chosen lol, it may well be the RSA he goes in, but it may also well be the JLT, nice to have the insurance

Very confidently sticking a line straight through More Of That for the RSA.
Doesn't matter how classy you are, you need to crack straight on with novice chasing straight after being a novice hurdler. Plenty of very good hurdlers have stayed hurdling an extra season or two before going chasing and failed in the RSA, despite looking like they couldn't fail on hurdles and chase form in the build up. Time For Rupert, Grands Crus just a couple, Smad Place as well.
Will probably hose up all season and anyone opposing him on this basis will look like a lunatic in the run up as he shortens up, but on the day they will be proven right. Again.

With all due respect RTB what you're saying is a bit too simplistic. You're trying to pigeonhole MOT without looking at the bigger picture. The 3 horses you mentioned all had 10 or more runs before going novice chasing. MOT had 6 and the reason they kept him over hurdles for the 2014/2015 season was because he had niggling problems, which were apparent after his dismal run in the Long Distance.
So the way i see it is MOT won the WH as a novice (if you forget his 1 run/win in a maiden prior season) and was kept over hurdles for an extra season due to problems. He is bred to be a chaser and has always been talked about as one.
Good luck if you do decide to lay him. I'll be on the other side of the bet cheering him on.

So he should be. By far the best 3m nov chase performance we have seen thus far, superb display of jumping. Gonna take a darn good one to beat him in March.

He was really impressive and looks a really high class horse. But I've personally got a couple of question marks with him and think he's a woeful price right now. Will be go on better ground? Think he definitely wants it soft myself. And does he really stay 3m in a championship race? I'm not sure. Didn't seem to get home in the AB last year.
I might be wrong on both counts but these doubts were enough to put me off at 8's so definitely not interested now!

NO MORE HEROES.....still has it to prove in a real melting pot race such as the RSA. I'd be willing to give him the benefit that the couple of below par runs over hurdles can be excused due to immaturity / sickness and he has now matured into a proper horse. In fairness he had a huge frame to fill. He also has the benefit of being with a proper Grade One chase trainer in Elliot (I think it's all but one of his dozen grade one successes have been over fences). mincer11 • November 30, 2015 5:49 PM GMT No More Heroes is a proper horse, absolutely no doubt about it. The faster the ground the more vulnerable he maybe so Cheltenham might be where he doesnt show himself in a really good light. Good ground is surely a worry, he looks a fine big horse who appreciates soft and even worse. He should have won the Albert Bartlett last year, got the worst ride of the meeting bar none. Theres no way any other top jockey would have got beaten on it, and theres no way any other top jockey would have been blackguarded the way Cooper was.
