Purely from a punting point of view.

Favourite - Ryanair chase has been very good to me. Landed a couple of nice ante post punts in it.

Queen mother champion chase - Much like the ryanair.

Worst - Champion hurdle. I think I've backed one winner in the last decade.

Triumph hurdle - Other than Our Connor I've had a shocking time in this race.

Triumph has been an absoute graveyard for me. My eldest is called Connor and I didnt even manage to pick that one, even though the missus and the whole of the rest of the family were on

The gold cup is the best race for me by a country mile back 2 horses usually and
have only lost 4 times in 32 years, £500 won on windy last year, usually its obvious but this year is a bloody nightmare, could see nichols placed but not winning.

Champion hurdle is usually good but again so many have good and bad points this year

Apart from the grand national (off topic) one win in 32 years (ben nevis)

The fred winter is my graveyard- A tip from me is if your winning after the first 2 days -quit ! the second 2 days belong to the bookies

My 3 fave races from a winning point of view are the supreme the champion and the bumper

i tend to do my nuts on long distance chases  (probs still pished from the earlier winners) Silly

I am the King of the Coral Cup. Only once or twice in the last 15 years has my selection not won or gone close. This year no bet, though if Activial went out to like 16/1 I might be tempted.

I have also backed the winner of the Pertemps the last two years in a row. I have the winner this year too but not telling.

My worst race is that 3 mile handicap chase on the 1st day. 5 or 6 times I've been sucked into it certain I had the winner. Never any luck with the closest being Our Mick 3rd in 2012 @ 16/1. I will never be tempted again by this race. Not ever.

Best is the world hurdle.

Worst and by a long way is the Bumper, late on I am usually half cut at the festival but this race is a pure guessing game and I always convince myself I have the answer and put a lumpy bet on....  It doesn't help when I once went to the tote counter to back Cue Card and changed my mind at the last second for no reason at all (it was over 70's on the tote, must be rubbish huh?). Cry You know what? - I will do it this year too! ExcitedExcited

I seem to have a bizarrely good record in the Fred Winter. Not sure why. Tend to do well on the Champion Hurdle too. Bumper, Foxhunters and Cross Country are poor races for me. Thankfully I don't get too involved in those.

the Triumph is one of my best with Oh So Risky (100/8) and Heighlin (33/1) the longest priced winners plus several at shorter prices such as Katchit, Mysilv and Kribensis. The RSA chase has also been good to me on the whole. Worst would be handicaps-I try to leave them alone but it is Cheltenham and I like to have an interest in most races. I draw a line at the X country though-go and make a cup of coffee and watch.
