Anyone winging on the bookies shortening said horses in these markets i am just wondering one thing.
WAS YOU INTENDING ON BACKING SAID ANIMALS AND IF NOT WHY ARE YOU EVEN LETTING IT BOTHER YOU ![]() If you were aiming to back said animals, you only really have your own selves to blame for not doing so on Sunday before the firms made the chops. All needs to be done is look on the bf market, compare them to bookies prices and bobs your uncle you know what to back. Of the horses that were shortened that didn't move on bf aren't worth bothering about cos they most likely not going to turn up anyways. Either that or will be similar prices on the day unless some kind of catastrophic happenings happens with the horses at the top! I was angry when the chopped the Gold cup horses last week. I have selections written on a pad with maths worked out on stakes etc for my book for said race. It had been there for a couple weeks but i didn't back any of them for Gold cup thinking that last week would actually be the QMCC pw pick basing that on the first week being the Churdle. Them horses were Smad Place 33/1, Carlingford 33/1, Many Clouds 16/1 and On his Own 25/1. All were shortened before i could get a bean on and to make matters even worse for me the advised price on CL wasn't the 33/1 that he was that Sunday before or the 25/1 that he was at 4pm the day before but at only 20s! I just had to swallow it and take the 20/1, working out the book i made a couple of adjustments and had a bit on it at that price. Still makes a bitter sweet taste in the mouth but i don't blame anyone on here the rp or pw or to another extent i dont even blame the bookies cos it was obvious watching the market on here that he was going to shorten during that day and i still didn't play. My fault only. |

This week i have not made the same mistake and backed Uxezandre at 16s nrnb, Sned and ST at 25s nrnb and just done the PW one at the advised price of 33s this morn with b365.
I learned my mistake last week with the gold cup, wont be doing it again ![]() |

Just a question well
Your on at 70 and 75,s would you go in again at 33's as you think he will outrun those odds? Your position is good but surely 33 (pre pricewise) is about fair on his profile? |

I would lay it off Robbo and roll the stake money over into a new bet..

Sea that is 5 in Champion Chase you backed, without others you have backed Balder Succes eg on another thread you backed.
You gonna back the whole field bar Sprinter and Sire? |

Anyway before you start spouting its all about the book, what do you actually think will win the race?

Nah Robbo, don't think I'll bother laying off.
Only got a fiver on, and although I do really fancy Sprinter, I can't be bothered putting a fiver on a 3/1 shot. Looking at the others between 16/1 and 33/1 I think Hidden Cyclone has got just as good a chance as any of them, so I'd rather keep my good price, rather than giving half of it away. |

I've come to the conclusion that Segal doesn't like the Festival anywhere near enough. He keeps getting the remaining weeks until it starts wrong. He should be counting down the days!

Special Tiara has to be a decent bet for anyone looking to back something at a price. That's my opinion anyway and that's based on the visual impression he created in the Desert Orchid Chase. I just loved the way he jumped. I suppose the obvious weaknesses are his hit and miss form and does he truly stay two miles? Maybe but maybe not then in a Champion Chase. Still he interests me just based on that last run.

Does anyone know the plans for Hinterland?
