lol buddeliea - Merry xmas & Happy New Year. Not to worry pal, the above post just about sums things up, you make a point these days and are accused of suggesting your opinion is worth more. This couldn't be further from the truth, the debate on here is on the whole, of a very strong quality.

I would be interested in the amount of money being put on by people on here on horses. To discuss it day in day out then surely we are talking at least £100 yes?

All the best of the season to you too Howdi.
By:
Not all about Money collector...its my main hobby, reckon I could get involved in all this if I did not punt to be honest. Im only a small stakes punter anyway mate.

Thanks Wellchief regards of the season. PS/ Have a missed something why is At Fisher's Cross fav in Ireland today? Hasn't won since his novice season (xmas lay for me)

yes per race I have an interest in, I don't do a sts and back half the field ![]() |

Howdi you should not give up posting however you could do worse than compare say your opening posts on this forum to that of say CVByrne's. See who puts more effort in or who comes across as more informed. You may well be very knowledgeable but you would want to make sure you get that knowledge down on the forum.
Nothing to do with you Howdi or indeed this debate but as a forumite, I'd personally prefer to read a well researched and thought-out post tipping a loser than a one liner post tipping a winner. |

Can't work it out myself Howdi, I'd never have AFC in this - Lieutenant Colonel for me, and have put a cheeky little fiver on the Ladbrokes special of him to win today and the World Hurdle at 66/1.
With doubts over More of That, Beat That not being seen and Briar Hill a massive drifter today, I'm nailing my colours to Lieutenant Colonel for the WH. Good luck mate |

it dosent matter what stakes you are playing ,its all relative really how big or small you bet doesn't make a lot of difference imo ,for example if jp MacManus puts £50,000 on a horse and a guy who is on the dole and puts £50 of his giro on a horse ,who has risked the most who has the biggest balls ? one has risked a fraction of his wealth the other has risked most of his money ! I am not a big stakes punter £30-£50 ante post and top up with bits usually , although I do sometimes get a rush of blood to the head and go in like a bull at a gate !

I have a life outside the forum So You Think. I just don't want to be ridiculed every time I post a quick opinion.

I wouldn't take it too personally Howdi. When we put our money down we often see the horse as a surrogate family member and anybody "abusing" them is often taken quite personally. The winner yesterday was very impressive but these days the odds aren't really framed so much by the books but by punter weight in my view. Peace And Co remains way out in front on the odds front any anything wanting to take that off him will have to put up a better performance or he'll have to run badly next time.
I very much doubt they'd consider switching such a strong favourite from this race to end up beig second or third favourite for the supreme. One of the others including the winner yesterday? Maybe. |

point taken Eeternaloptimist can't we change the horses name to Peace & Love

@ TheCollector LOL. Are you for real? My average bet is over a grand.
That post where I said I was a £2 punter was just my little joke. Where am I telling the truth? What difference does it make? Who cares anyway? If I was a pro footballer earning £100,000 a week it would be nothing to lose a grand a week on the horses. If I was on DLA and looking at this as a wee boost to my income, I'd be happy to win a grand a month. |
By:
So that's another tasty looking juvenile the owner has, sluicing up at Limerick.
Eeternal think you are right that the owner will have a juvenile or 2 in the Supreme. Peace and co according to timeform would be fav right now....if they are correct with his rating of course. He would probably have the most chance of winning that race, although the others would all be a threat in a Supreme as well imo. |
By:
Would agree with Howdi here...opinions get posted and then often shot down by someone who holds the opposite view, usually because that's where there money is, and often the reply is factually incorrect.
By:
Lots of factually incorrect opinions get put forwards on here when someone has placed a bet on said horse. It's easy to see and happens a lot.
By:
good luck Bobs worth here.

Sorry about the delay in responding Howdi. I don't recognise all the horses listed but certainly whilst Dnguib and Cousin Vinny were short priced horses they had both struggled with their jumping prior to Cheltenham. This one's jumping was something special.
By:
I WISH THOSE WELL ON AT PRICES...Think you may see him on trials day at cheltenham

By:
Goodness knows what the owners will think if Top Notch wins. They may have half of the field.
![]() |
By:
And along comes Top Notch, giving the owner 4 juveniles.
Im going to hazard a guess 2 will be in Triumph, and 1 in Supreme. The other saved fresh for Aintree.......unless he has any more to come out!! ![]() |
By:
We haven't even seen the owner's best one yet Budd

I hear they've got another 5 waiting to come out in the new year.

Really impressed by the way TOP NOTCH travelled through the race, jumped well enough, was challenged on all sides as he came into the front of the race and beat them off, destroying them in the last 200 metres, and strode away.
He has 10lb penalty doing that, from two out of two french wins, I couldn't have this horse rated far off 140 on that performance and he looks a threat to everything in the Triumph. God knows what the owners going to do, but bound to include the Supreme with one or two of them. Peace and Co starting to have challengers on all sides now, and given the 2015 Champion Hurdle has a quality hardcore of 4, and nothing outside of it, then this years principal juveniles could swarm all over the 2016 Champion Hurdle market post-Cheltenham. |
By:
Thing with peace and co is I can't see him improving much more... Think he's played all his cards AMD that's as good as he is, which is very good but with the triumph horses tend to improve 10ln from 1 to the next ie tiger roll last year
By:
You could be right of course but he's seen a race course all of twice and he certainly didn't see hands and heels let alone the whip at Donny as he won with his head in his chest.
If anybody has his French race it would be interesting to see that. |
By:
Not being argumentative and asking genuinely but has anything run within half a stone of him yet?
By:
No according to TimeForm pal ^^^
By:
Seriously how some people cant see that this animal is a complete freak is beyond me,Ye only see a display like that once every 10 years or so,pulled like a train most the way and finishes his race as if he only joined in on the run in,Tanks along in his race like only really good ones can,i'll be absolutely amazed if anything wins even half as impressive as this lad from now until march.
A complete freak of a horse is the only way he can be described. |
By:
Interestingly the third which was blasted off the track by PAC-MAN was previously close enough at Cheltenham giving weight away to what were considered the leading players at that time.
By:
are u on Roar?
By:
No i'm not howdi,i'm not an ante post man.

Said third finished second today in a Catterick novice won by a nice sort who was fairly close up in the champion bumper.
