Has Willie given an update on this one? He was supposed to be his no.1 RSA horse last season before injury struck....according the BF market that is as Pont Alexander was already ruled out at that stage.

"He’s back in full training and the plan is to go novice chasing. I’m very much looking forward to him. His pedigree suggests that will stay well and I haven’t seen anything from him to suggest he won’t stay well. He’s a big horse and I wouldn’t be rushing to run him on a sound surface, for all that I think he’d probably handle it.”

should remember ur log ins to the other place and ud av this on tap MischiefSilly

He was my pre-season Arkle fancy last year - not sure he's an RSA horse. Even if he comes back 100% it's still impossible to back him for anything antepost imo given his connections.

Also Giggenstown have 4 to go chasing with. Un Atout, Very Wood, Don Poli and Rule the World. Hard to know who goes where. Though I'd be confident Don Poli will be going for the 4 miler and Very Wood for the RSA. Baring any injuries of course.

Un Atout was entered in the 2m 5f Beginners Chase at Fairyhouse yesterday at the 4-day stage. I haven't seen any entries for Pont Alexandre yet so I presume he's a few weeks away yet. Sir Des Champs - they were talking about the second half of the season. To be honest, the likes of these horses coming back from massive injury lay-off's, you have to tread carefully from a punting point of view. I know they had big reputations before injury but rarely do they come back as good. You would think as well after such long lay-off's they'd try and get out early which they haven't which suggests they are still struggling with them.

Un Atout could be seen this weekend .... he's entered in Beginners Chase's at Navan and Punchestown

He's ruuning again today. I backed him for any race at 14/1, because i haven't lost faith. I guess i'll find out what i have later. Doesn't look the wisest bet on paper, but i never said in was wise now.

Interesting that they have dropped him back in trip but he must pass this test today if he has Cheltenham aspirations. Gigginstown have so many novice chaser options, they could easily be mob handed in the JLT, RSA and National Hunt Chase.

That wasn't much use. Probably has to be a handicap if anyone is going to get a festival return.
Report Wicketd December 28, 2014 1:42 PM GMT
fences ommitted and a 2m3f trip surely wouldnt have helped him though...needs further
Report Graeme83 December 28, 2014 1:46 PM GMT
I'm not one for scrapping barrels mate. He's not winning a big race in March. if he goes, which i'm not so sure about, it will be a handicap race.
Report gutfeeling December 28, 2014 1:47 PM GMT
Not sure he enjoys chasing myself, I'd try him back in a hurdles race to see if he retains any of his ability as that was a labored effort, Winner looked smart enough though.
Report Wicketd December 28, 2014 1:52 PM GMT
i do agree, dont think he'll be good enough to win in march, just think he'll be seen to best effect over 3m. looked like he was always doing a bit much to go with them today.
Report Slabster December 29, 2014 9:02 PM GMT
Doesn't look the horse he was unfortunately.
