Sorry about this thread I didn't realise it was an offence to say  you'd backed a winner if you hadn't posed it in a thread before the race ( Which I did but that's hardly the point ).

To my mind aftertiming is rubbing it in in an obnoxious manner after the event. '' I told you he'd win... I've made a fortune blah blah blah''.

If anyone is sad enough to claim they've backed a winner when they havn't then shame on them.

I'm sure there's no one on here as pathetic as that.

Stop posting on here lads. We're getting accused of all sorts of evil on the ante post forum.

Have you calmed down Mr E? Mary Chain has quite rightly put the culprits in there place. Totally unfair comments aimed at the both you

Anyway, back to the thread. Had a much better day today, due to laying. Only lost £400 quid. Still doing a hefty chunk over the 3 days and

Confidence shot to bits

Really disappointed with myself today. Annie Power not winning was a big win for me and I should have stopped there.

But I got drawn into the hype and frittered away money needlessly.

Tomorrow looks very hard. I might just have a small bet in the Gold cup and invest more on the placepot.

Anything you fancy tomorrow Giddy?

They didn't go to four days for the punters benefit. A lot of races now where you either need a pin or have sniffed something far enough ahead of the handicapper that the other plot horses haven't got more in hand. Championship races only for me.

Very good point. Some of these handicaps are a complete minefield. You could back ten and not get a sniff.

Just done 2 hours study on the County Hurdle. Montbazon and Alaivan are interesting but I'm bang out of form mate

Right way to go Eeternal. If only I had the discipline required.

If it's any consolation I had a shocking three days last year but managed to turn it around on day four. Best of luck to you.

A lifetime of some bitter and some sweet has convinced me that I hate losing as much as I love winning. I hate putting the money down if I don't really fancy one and if that means 10 bets a year instead of 100 then so be it. And you can stick yer flat racing. Laugh

Viva Colonia looks worth a bet in the Grand Annual at 33/1. Also doing Raya Star there 10/1 win only.

I'm going to have a big bet on Bob's Worth and will wait to find the best price. I hope I get some 5/2 but I'll happily take 9/4. To be honest, I'd do with 2/1. I've got Last Instalment at 10s but dont think its going to get its ground. I've also done Cloudy Too at 66s.

I've just picked a couple of each way rags in the Foxhunters. F*cked if I'm spending more than £10 on that race, spent about 3 minutes on it, but gone for The Hollinwell 50/1 and Shy John 25/1.

I've got a £5 trixie rolling onto Briar Hill that pays a lovely amount. I didn't even remember I'd done it until Faugheen won and they partially settled the first double. I'll paste it in before I get slaughtered by the aftertiming police. Tempted to do £100 on King's Palace as cover but will wait until just before the off. I've also done a couple of each ways in that, as there's a couple that could well improve for the decent ground. Done Blakemount and Mosspark each way at 25/1 and 20/1.

14/02/2014    Trixie To Win    Faugheen @ 7/2
Win or E/W
13:30 NEPTUNE NOVICES' HURDLE (GRADE 1) 2m 5f    Win    £20.00
Vautour @ 7/2
Win or E/W
13:30 SUPREME NOVICES' HURDLE 2m 1/2f    Win
Briar Hill @ 5/1
Win or E/W
14:40 ALBERT BARTLETT NOVICES' HURDLE 3m    Pending

I've got £5 on Abbyssial in the Triumph at 59 ave, and I've got Pearl Castle at 25s. Don't know if I'll add to that. In the County I've done Lyvvius at 25/1.

Will probably have another in the County and haven't gone through the Pipe race yet.

Was having a complete nightmare.  One winner (jezki).  Today I tried a speculative e/w lucky 31. First race fell, second race nowhere, third race very wood (thank goodness, still losing but damage limited). Fourth race- Last weekend my girlfriend and I went for a romantic weekend in the Lake district and having a sail down lake Windermere (have you guessed which outsider I backed yet??) Yes that's right I backed Triolo Dalene! Last one nowhere too.
