Never have I ever had such a swing of emotions in such a short space of time where racing is involved. The excitement and anticipation to what was to be the race of the year, to really not caring about the race at all and having that sick empty sorrowful feeling. It was not related to money lost as only had a very small financial interest but Our Connor brought alot of joy to me and many others through his triumph victory last year, a real peoples horse. The general feeling was mutual and this included some hardened punters used to the swings of emotion racing brings.
