This should be easy,

1. Kings palace to beat the slow Briar Hill
2. Sire De Grugy to win the queen mother.  Who are the other horses in the betting please? I've forget their names?
3. Annie power to win the world hurdle. Big Bucks still won't be fit enough to win

just my opinion Wink

Sire De Grugy one of the lays of the meet.

Why you think that glossy?

we will see glossy. I find it funny that everyone was fancying SDG to possibly beat sprinter sacre, but now sprinter sacre is out, everyone is jumping on the bandwagon about him being a massive lay. suppose i can't lose if his price is pushed out even bigger than what his price is right now......unbeleivable geff!!Laugh

Rock on Ruby to get pumped

Dynaste to have an excuse when pumped

Judoprickk to argue with someone who disagrees with him

For a start, to say that 'everyone' was expecting SDG to beat Sprinter Sacre is just incorrect.

The horse has ran twice at Cheltenham and has been beaten both times. The Moore's admit that the track does not suit the horse. Look at what it has beaten this year. I'll list the horses that have followed him home: Majala, Somersby, Oiseau De Nuit and Hidden Cyclone. I don't see beating these horses over 2m as achieving anything too special. Visually, he has often been impressive but when he comes up against some of the better 2 milers who might put some pressure on his jumping, it may be a different story.

To cut a long story short, I don't think that what the horse has achieved justifies such a short price. Couple that with the doubts over whether he acts on the track and you have more than enough reason to lay or oppose.

RoR a definite lay for me too.
as is At Fishers Cross

I seen lots of people on here and elsewhere saying SDG could beat sprinter sacre, if the real sprinter doesn't turn up on the day. There's no doubting that one. But now spinter is out its "oh SDG is the fav, he's know the lay of the meeting". Some people just saying it for the sake of it. If SDG was to be a non runner and captain conan was the fav, it would be exactly the same....oh captain conan is the lay of the meeting and so on.

One thing i like what you have done above is stating why SGD won't win. credit to you for that, But IMO your reasoning is not good enough. You say SDG only beat blah blah blah. What other horses in the field have done anything so special? i can't see it. Did you also ready Friday's racing post? Jamie Moore said alot on why SDG will win or the one to beat.

Finally you say his price is short enough? sprinter sacre is out of the field and his price still hasn't moved!!! Should be a 4/5f shot IMO. Hope my mouth gets me out of jail here and SDG hacks up Laugh.

I'm not saying SDG can't win - just that at 9/4 it's too short and therefore is a lay in my book.

If it doesn't win, I like the chances of Arvika Legionnaire and wouldn't dissuade anyone from backing the the old boy Sizing Europe at a big price. Of the others, I can see the likes of Module getting into it if they go off at a generous gallop.

I think this thread needs the title changed to "SDG Debate"

Sire De Grudy has comfortably the best 2m form this season. The argument that he has beaten nothing isn't really true. He's won the Tingle Creek, the Desert Orchid and the race at Ascot.....i.e. the top 2m races. He won the Celebration Chase at the end of last season.

Name another race with better form.

To me this race is obvious, Sire De Grugy has by far and away the best form in the race.

You've just named races there. Gone are the days when all of the best horses ran in the 'best' races. You've also neglected the fact that the Queen Mother is not run at either Sandown, Kempton or Ascot.

I don't know what evidence there is to say the best horses don't run in the best races.

I know where the Champion Chase is run - I'm just pointing out the obvious and that is Sire De Grugy has easily the best form of the English contenders. The Irish challenge is very weak in my opinion too.

What exactly does that mean? I'm not wrong but I'm not right? That makes sense !

Arvika Legionnaire the shortest priced on the Irish runners says it all about the strength of the Irish challenge.

Sire De Grugy has comfortably the best form of the likely runners in the QM. Arvika Ligeonniere looks next best but has major question marks going left handed.

I'd say given the arguable issues that SDG has - does he dislike Cheltenham (not entirely convinced by this yet)? Is he better on soft ground? - that 9/4 is about right, but he seems to keep drifting. I wouldn't be surprised to see him available at 11/4 or 3/1 on Wednesday. That would be good value.
