Discounting the infamous 'wrong course' race in 2011, Balthazar King's record on the Cross Country course is 11211.

The caveat is the '2' came when there was 'soft' in the ground description.

So, him - he'll be taken out if the ground is unsuitable anyway.

I really wanted to put Quevega but it's not very original!

when quevega finally isn't in the mares race anymore they'll have to get rid of it as it will be a total embarrasement.

My best bets and ones I think have a great chance of place or win Al Ferof Ryanair @ 20/1 Rock on Ruby Arkle @ 20/1 and @ 16/1 Ballycasey RSA @ 25/1 too many to mention! To me Quevega and Sprinter Sacre look bombproof and the more and more I look at the Gold Cup I can't see Bobsworth getting beat.

I backed him ages ago on here,so you aint the only ones.
Don't mind it being soft, have Sil Conti and Last Instalment as big winners as well, they should be ok on soft.

I dont understand why there's a few more comments on the forums regarding Sprinter Sacre being bomb proof.. He is still recovering from a dodgy heart situation.

I think this presents an interesting comparison with Denman. Denman had lost once in about 16 races including pulverising KS in the GC... then he had same heart problem and the results are there for all to see, simply not the same horse ever again.

I love SS and enjoyed cleaning up last year with him especially thanks to Coral's Evens offer for last year's festival! But i have managed to trade in and out so that if he loses the CC i win but lose nothing if he doesnt... and i am happy with this position because its impossible to ignore heart situation..

I think Wonderful Charms form is very strong, and he should improve for the festival - I've had a nice touch at 12s down to 6s for the JLT.

The New One has to be my banker though, I've spent hours pouring over the CH form and it'll be the first time I've oppossed the fly.

Jezki place lay is my current lay of the meeting.

Sprinter Sacre/Quevega/Bobs Worth  - treble.

Screw you, and screw the gold run

VAUTOUR Supreme Novice Hurdle - the horse looks so large through the withers he must have a huge heart and lungs, nothing to touch him on Race 1, Day 1, and he is beginning to improve at a rate of knots.

Scared The Tullow Tank over to Neptune to take on Faugheen, which is WM's other huge Novice, so that tells you much.

Al Ferof - Ryanair
Cheltenham Horse
2 miles 5 furlongs optimum trip
Trained by one of the best to peak on the big day with a great record in the race
First Lieutenant looks exposed and was disappointing in the race last year where he lacked the speed at the business end, not convinced by the form or profile of Benefficient, Cue Card looks like running in the Gold Cup, could anyone trust Pipe to produce Dynaste to return to form and peak for the festival - I couldn't, Menorah looks pretty exposed. The key here is that in all liklihood Al Ferof won't have much to beat and will finally be running under his optimum conditions so for those reasons is my strongest fancy.
Currently 6/1 could go off 9/4 depending on the opposition

Good luck all.
