Black Hercules or Shane shill for the bumper

Black Hercules is by far the most impressive bumper horse I've seen this season

Where did u read BH wont run?!

Both are intended runners on everything ive read

I've also played Black Hercules, - on form much the best bumper horse so far imo. Though of course anything can happen and often Mullins himself doesn't even know his best runner on the day.

It was in the racing section in the Sunday mirror from an Irish racing correspondant , can't remember his name. , I was gutted , hope its not corect

Mullins did say something along the lines of BH is not certain to travel coz the owners have Shaneshill which is an intended runner.
Remember thinking at the time they must think Shaneshill is sum tool then

He defo hasn't because he still has a chance of running as far as i know !!!!!what about our Connor now lad , I was impressed with him last day and think he will be even better up the old hill

Vigil winning well today ties in some collateral form lines and enhances Black Hercules claims for the Cheltenham bumper.
Mullins said in his Racing Post column that BH and Shaneshill are his main 2 hopes.
Id be all over BH normally but the vibe I get from Mullins is that he thinks Shaneshill is the better horse so il prob end up backing both to level stakes.
Anyone have other thoughts?

Dermot Weld will train the winner this year.

Dermot Weld would have to send one across first, he's not always the keenest to do that!

Re Weld - great trainer but his record in Cheltenham not great.  He said yesterday that all three bumper winners could run/win on the flat - they go a cracking pace in the Champion Bumper and I know there have been exceptions but I think you need to be able to win over 2m 4f for this race

anyone know what happening with silver concorde nothing to lay on here and its my bogey in the race

See Vivega, this full brother to Quevega makes a long awaited racecourse debut for Ricci / Mullins at 4.50. The bumper is wide open so far could an emphatic win today see this catapulted into fav for the festival equivalent ?

The way Patrick Mullins has talked he will be riding Black Hercules in the Bumper. Be surprised if he didn't run.

Very probable and I know nothing of Vivega but was making the point the race has a very open look and an impressive performance now could see a horse from what would be nowhere come to the fore.

I have backed them both (and doubled with Vautor the supreme) got these quotes, if they help (confuse)anyone

"I'm looking forward to my bumper horses Shaneshill and Black Hercules. I think Black Hercules would prefer much softer ground than Shaneshill," he told At The Races.

"Shaneshill does seem to have a good turn of speed towards the end of the race. I think it will be very ground dependant. If it comes up fairly soft, then I think Black Hercules would have a good chance.

"Shaneshill has run on soft ground as well, but we think he's better on better ground. It will be a difficult decision for the jockey to choose.

"I'm just happy I've got two with very good chances and will look forward to the race."

A closer look at the form of both and BH looks to have far stronger form in the book! I know which one i'd be siding with
