What/where/when is the one in Islington, Sint? Is that the same as the London Racing club one?
|

By:

Cheers Sint, if it's the one I'm thinking of it is usually on the Thursday before...? I go every year with the lads, although I think the last couple of years have had too much focus on the Championship races, which most people will have already formed their opinions on by then. Used to prefer 'the old days' when you could pick up the odd snippet which came in handy for the handicaps...
That said, I'll be going again this year as you can't break the tradition or the Mrs will stop us going next year! ![]() |

Thought shockster was John Morris for a minute then, that would have been a shock. Been the the Morris one in Maghull a couple of times. Once there was a keep fit/exercise club on in the sports hall downstairs and the P.A. system was piping her through shouting "one more, knees up etc". One of the panel said something about "fat club" prompting the organiser to come into the bar area where the preview night was screaming until she saw John Parrot and then she got a bit tongue tied.

Parrot couldn't even tip a snooker cue. Big Gary will be there to tell everyone that Ladbrokes have just taken 2 million quid on Denman to win the gold cup, followed by someone whispering in his ear, and someone on the panel saying "mmmm these sandwiches are nice".

Am going to the one at at Cheltenham. Decent panel there this year. I don't go for tips or advice - haven't ever found much info that has been useful at these nights. They do whet the appetite somewhat, however.

The info you get is always in the public domain. Just the various opinions might provoke an angle you hadn't thought of etc. A lot of the time they are good for just making you think slightly differently about a horse you really fancied or one you didn't. Nothing can beat research and private information in the long run.
