They were all saying that Danny M let Ruby have too much of a lead.. At most it was about three or four lengths and the way they all went on it sounded like he nicked a ten length lead! I hope Mick Mitz and the boy next to him steamed in and done there cobs

Not sure on what basis TTT can beat Vautour. DM did lay a bit far out of his ground and made a mistake at a crucial stage but Vautour travelled and jumped really well. Who knows though....they're not machines and maybe TTT just had an off day. If the form booked always worked out, there would be no bookmakers.

I have backed him for the Supreme so obvs want him to go there, but didnt Fenton say the Supreme was the target a few weeks ago, another one putting punters away. Still genuinely think TTT is high class.

Was shockingly embarrassing stuff.
Before the race TTT was the best since sliced bread,and after the race when they did the replay all they talked about was TTT,and how he got beat,jockey let him go off too far ahead,made a couple of mistakes etc etc,yet hardly a mention of Vautour doing it from the front pretty much with comfort really. Then they interview TTT's jockey as they are being led in after the race. They really did not like their horse being well beaten,and it seemed to me they just could not handle it. TV pundits?? |

TTT was the first horse off the track, which is why he was interviewed first. although I suppose chapman could have sprinted past TTT and jockey interviewed ruby then hotfooted it back to speak to mullins, yeah that makes perfect sense....

So how many times have you seen the jockey of the 2nd home interviewed straight after the race??

Vautour won in identical front running style to how Pont Alexandre won his races last year - he then went off a silly price favourite for Cheltenham and got stuffed. Just saying like.

And Faugheen could go likewise also when The Tullow Tank looms up. Grade 3 winner who's never had to battle v double Grade One winner who knows how to fight

If the Tank was trained by Mullins and Faugheen trained by Fenton the sheep would be saying "Faugheen hasn't beat anyone over hurdles and winning a Grade 3 at Limerick?big deal"...
I'm on both but odds on that's what would be said. |

Spot on. I thought Chapman did the right thing tbh. It's not Channel 4 where they have to interview the winner straight away. BTW, I would say Vautour was more at home on the Heavy ground than TTT was looking at how each horse travelled. |

Why would you not interview TTT's jockey when he walks right past you?

Agreed, and in this case it is far more informative finding out why TTT didn't win as opposed to hearing from a winning jock just how dandy everything was.

Who cares ? they provide very good coverage whenever i listen to them, and some folks are sweating their reaction to TTT ? get over it. Too many folk in the online racing 'community' are pedantic, and get flustered over the insignificant things. If you want to be offended, go and watch bbc news 24.

well said the more jockeys get interviewed the better,half the racing people whether jockeys,trainers or owners dont want 'us lot' to know anything !

Just don't think its very professional for pundits to be so biased to a horse just cos they have money on it,and virtually ignore a good performance from the one they aint backed. that's all really.
End of the day, I wont be losing sleep, but thought it worth pointing out, and appears i aint alone.. |

Fenton mentioned he was leaning towards the Neptune in his post race comments budd but that may just have been a 'disappointed' reaction. Suspect they will leave it till much nearer racetime in order that they can assess the state of the ground and strength of the opposition.

trainers change their mind quicker than the mother in law, had this on another thread, could, should, would, probably, might, possibly, we think, is not a definitive answer imo

With the softest ground probably on day one and the horses preference for cut he could easily line up in the supreme

vautour won comfortably and looked to have plenty left,whereas ttt was all out. still different day,different venue...who knows!! |

Tullow Tank rolls on to JLT test
The Tullow Tank is set to be prepared for the Cheltenham Festival following a much improved effort at Leopardstown. A dual Grade One-winning hurdler last season for Philip Fenton, the seven-year-old sidestepped Cheltenham due to the controversy surrounding his now-suspended trainer, but has been given the green light to cross the water this year by current handler Sandra Hughes. After getting his chasing career off to a flyer at Fairyhouse in November, he disappointed in both the Drinmore and Topaz Novice Chases, but fared better to finish fourth in the Flogas Novice Chase behind Apache Stronghold. A potential rematch with the winner is on the cards in Cheltenham's JLT Novices' Chase on day three of the Festival. Hughes said: "We were really pleased with him as he jumped exceptionally well, which is what we wanted to see. "I don't think we'll get another run into him now, so the plan is to go straight to Cheltenham for the JLT." Could it be that he has been raced undercooked all season and shown that he still retains ability. Might bring him on and could he? Just could he? |
