It is such a pitty. Once again a Mullins top chaser gets injured. My 'Mullins chasers watch' didn't go down well with one or two folk, but the genuinity of my belief is now unfortunately beginning to be credibly proven. You want to be getting a overly generous price on a Mullins chaser before backing it. Ponte Alexandre is also out for the reason incase anyone forgot.

You should base you opinion on how the horses jump fences on the racetrack Graeme. Unless you are privvy to the injuries suffered by these horses.

..these horses being Pont & Un Atout.

I base my opinion of horses like Mikael D'Haguenet, Kempes and Boston Bob.

But not Hedgehunter, Florida Pearl, Sir Des Champs, Cooldine, Golden Silver, Quel Esprit etc, etc
Report Graeme83 October 18, 2013 9:58 AM BST
But yes at Quel Esprit and Cooldine. Sir Des Champs for me didn't perform to his best either last season. If i were to have a bet, i'd wage that un atout got injured trying to ping a fence. Willie may know the snots and the bankers, but he can't get his best chasers to perform as consitsantly like the better trainers can.

It depends on what way you look at it Graeme.

You could say that he made Cooldine and Quel Esprit to perform above their ability to win Grade 1 races, rather than the other way round.  The only way we'd be able to tell is if they change trainer and see how they do there.

An example is Tidal Bay going to PFN has shown how good a trainer he is, but when a horse stays with one trainer their whole career, we never get to see how good they'd be with another

WC, this season will further enhance my belief about Mullins and his best chasers. I''m not going to rattle on about it, as i never even used to criticise anyone. However, some of these people within racing are very ignorant to the punter. Mullins keeps all of the information to himself, so that they can all land a touch. O'Brien and his lads are all tycoons, yet they self congratulate and high five when they land one on course. As Christophe Soumillon said, punters are the most imporant people in racing, alongside the owners. Nobody is asking for anything to be put on a plate. However, all of this 30 entries a race nonsense should stop. All of this putting everyone away should also stop. Take away the punter and racing is nada.
