Owner said he stays hurdling for the time being - things may have changed as they often do but they was a week ago

We now plan to have a similar campaign, starting at Exeter. We will then step him up in trip to run at Haydock in the Betfair chase. The ground will determine if we take in the King George,as I feel it is a gruelling race when the going is testing. Ascot will definitely be on the agenda and then we will return to Cheltenham for the Ryanair. His final outing is likely to be at Aintree in April.

Cue in the Betfair chase something to look forward to.

Right plan for Cue Card. He is a genuine 2.5 mile horse imo and his wins at Exeter and Cheltenham last year were his best 2 runs so why change it? Can't see him getting the trip in the KG unless it is quick ground.

Isn't the betfair chase 3 mile 1 furlong??? If he gets the trip in that then surely all systems go for the king George?

The King George is often run on testing ground and winter soft is much more testing than autumn soft. Watch back the KG won by Best Mate when top class staying chasers were down to a walk from the second last. The straight at Kempton can be like glue. Cue Card can win over 3 miles but not Group 1 races while he is clearly the best around over 2.5.

Meanwhile, exciting hurdler Rule The World is back in training after he suffered a fractured pelvis at the Punchestown Festival in the spring.

The point-to-point graduate won three of his six starts last season and ran a fantastic race to fill the runner-up spot behind The New One in the Neptune Investment Management Novices' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.

He broke down badly on his final appearance of the season at Punchestown, but Morris says he has made a full recovery.

He said: "He's great, touch wood.

"He's back in full work. I'm not going to commit myself to a date (for his return) but at the moment it's looking good.

"It looked bad at the time, but hopefully it's going the right way. I think he'll be staying over hurdles this season."
