Nice one Howdi.

Roll on the Charlie Hall.
Report BarryM April 28, 2013 12:57 AM BST
Amen to that. See you all in 6 months.
Report shockster April 28, 2013 5:35 PM BST
Yes, 6 months, but it will soon come round.  Good luck to all for the summer bets.
Report bluebirdfan April 29, 2013 2:16 PM BST
Same as every year I start the summer saying I won't waste my money on the flat....never happens
Report Ibrahima Sonko May 11, 2013 9:05 PM BST
its a double edged sword, one thinks roll on October but the summer is actually very nice. But then again chilly nh meeting in the winter is better than any palmed beach imo. Whoops
Report cricnut May 12, 2013 11:08 PM BST
Chilly summer meetings at the moment, so not alot of difference, apart from the quality of horses running.
Report duffy May 15, 2013 11:07 PM BST
If we didn't have to endure the long summer sabatical, we wouldn't appreciate it as much, the flat does its job in filling up the days though.
Report Glossy July 21, 2013 3:06 AM BST
This summer is dragging....
Report Makybe_Diva July 21, 2013 5:13 PM BST
At least we are having a summer.
Report shockster July 22, 2013 1:34 PM BST
Galway next week to look forward to.Grin

I don't have ATR, Shockster. I'm not a fan of summer jumping would probably watch it if I could.

It's an evening meeting isn't it? Great for those who are at work all day and would otherwise be unable to see it. Happy

I was at Wetherby today so took the chance for a run round the racecourse, can't wait for the Charlie Hall.
Report judorick July 26, 2013 12:36 AM BST
I'm actually having a great flat season punting wise, landed some right touches in the big handicaps, Royal Ascot etc

but I am fecking bored to tears

roll on the jumps
Report judorick August 4, 2013 9:44 AM BST
now Glorious Goodwood is over, I'm going to be exceptionally bored. What's left? Ebor, Leger, Cambridgeshire, Champions Day?

August arriving is always good, that's when it starts to feel closer, hell, at the end of this month you'll start to see the shops clearing their shelves in order to make room for christmas stock, love all that me, earlier the better.Happy
Report Makybe_Diva August 5, 2013 6:52 PM BST
If it were up to me I wouldn't allow anything Christmassy in the shops until 1st November.
Report Glossy August 6, 2013 7:50 PM BST
Me and a mate of mine have set a challenge of getting to as many different National Hunt meets as possible this year. Starting wirh Stratford on Sept 7th. Gonna be clocking up some miles this year!
Report Howdi August 8, 2013 2:55 PM BST
stratford a classy little place take in billy shakespear's old pad before you go racing Laugh
Report shockster August 8, 2013 3:59 PM BST
I'll be starting with Wetherby, prob do the Betfair Chase at Haydock and then The Hennessy at Newbury.  Who knows after that?  Can't wait.
Report festivalfanatic August 13, 2013 11:53 AM BST
Once the dustbin lids are back at school, we won't be very far off. PFN sruggled a bit last season - by his high standards anyway though I appreciate Big Bucks and Al Ferof were injured for Cheltenham - and I don't see a major improvement in his fortunes on the horizon.

I understand he hasn't been able to purchase much in France this summer - WPM has hoovered up the top French talent apparently - and the Hendo juggernaut seems likely to continue to roll.

Anyone else any thoughts about how Nicholls might do?
Report rogerthebutler August 15, 2013 6:33 AM BST
For anyone suffering too badly from withdrawal, a decent placebo is to have a few quid a week on something you fancy in the Cheltenham ante-post markets. It won't kill you and come October you'll have an 'interesting' position, one way or another.
Report Quvega August 17, 2013 5:23 PM BST
Is it nearly here yet. Flat is driving me loopy Cry

Being a jump racing fan does make winter more bearable.

Winter goes by very quickly when we just seem to lurch from one big Saturday meeting to another.

Then, before we know it, it's time for Chelts and the National and then it's Spring again Grin
