Same as every year I start the summer saying I won't waste my money on the flat....never happens

its a double edged sword, one thinks roll on October but the summer is actually very nice. But then again chilly nh meeting in the winter is better than any palmed beach imo. Whoops

Chilly summer meetings at the moment, so not alot of difference, apart from the quality of horses running.

If we didn't have to endure the long summer sabatical, we wouldn't appreciate it as much, the flat does its job in filling up the days though.

I don't have ATR, Shockster. I'm not a fan of summer jumping would probably watch it if I could.

It's an evening meeting isn't it? Great for those who are at work all day and would otherwise be unable to see it. Happy

August arriving is always good, that's when it starts to feel closer, hell, at the end of this month you'll start to see the shops clearing their shelves in order to make room for christmas stock, love all that me, earlier the better.Happy

Once the dustbin lids are back at school, we won't be very far off. PFN sruggled a bit last season - by his high standards anyway though I appreciate Big Bucks and Al Ferof were injured for Cheltenham - and I don't see a major improvement in his fortunes on the horizon.

I understand he hasn't been able to purchase much in France this summer - WPM has hoovered up the top French talent apparently - and the Hendo juggernaut seems likely to continue to roll.

Anyone else any thoughts about how Nicholls might do?

For anyone suffering too badly from withdrawal, a decent placebo is to have a few quid a week on something you fancy in the Cheltenham ante-post markets. It won't kill you and come October you'll have an 'interesting' position, one way or another.

Being a jump racing fan does make winter more bearable.

Winter goes by very quickly when we just seem to lurch from one big Saturday meeting to another.

Then, before we know it, it's time for Chelts and the National and then it's Spring again Grin
