I'm probably mad to have a chunky bet in a festival handicap, but I can't resist having a decent poke on this one in The Fred Winter. His early season form reads well beating Stocktons Wing (won twice since and ran well behind Our Connor) and Top Man Michael (two time winner before getting beat). A rating of 126 seems fair and the jockey takes another 5lbs off, so he'll be on a featherweight.

Trainer adament he wants better ground and cheekpieces are on today which helped him on the flat, think 40/1 is a big ew price, it's a tough handicap as you would expect but I get the impression will be primed for this today after a couple of recent spins on the flat.

when it came back on the bridle I thought I had the placepot won - sadly no - a good run for a 40/1er
