no reason, he did have a tough race at Kempton, no reports of him coming out of that race badly. He got tapped for toe a few times through that race so cheltenham should be a better option.
anything above 16/1 i feel is a great e/w bet

Was favourite last year off top weight, I reckon they have had this race lined up for it since that day. Goes off 10lbs lower this time round, and should go well.

Finding this the hardest race of day one to pick a horse out.
Trying to pick ones out who like soft ground.
Sire Collonges likes Cheltenham course but not sure about his finish up the hill.

All the horses I stated will hate the ground have you not seen Quantiteasing this year running on soft tailed off everytime all best form on good. Sire Collonges might not even run due to soft groung Nicholls stated he needs good thats why he hasn't run all year. Duke of Lucca needs good-soft at best Claisse said today its more than likely te whole 4 days will be soft.

I agree regarding Quantitaveasing but Duke Of Lucca has won before on what would appear to be soft ground at Cheltenham over 3 miles given the time of the race and the good gallop that day. I wouldn't reule him out on account of the ground but that's just my opinion

Duke could just get away with it I could see him being placed but I would prefer to go with an out and out soft ground lover. The one I am thinking is Gullinbursti look at his form it is serious he is a stone well in came 3rd 10l off levels by harry topper with Rocky Creek in second. Beaten 2l lengths by Hawkes Point. I just worry Dougie Costello keeps sending him on from miles out and he ends up getting chinned on the line by something ridden with more restraint.

Loch Ba and Cantlow for me. Lot of time for horses like Loch Ba and Silver Roque who have gone onto better things with a new trainer, although Hen still working very closely with Loch Ba. This race been the target for a while for Loch Ba and like many of the other posters think he will love the likely conditions, and is improving fast.

Really quite boring I know, and his chance is obvious but find it hard to look beyond Our Mick. Also like Fruity, honest, and sure as you can be that he'll run his race.

Haven't heard anything as regards plans for this horse but if Jadanli runs here, i'd say he would have an excellent e/w chance @ a big price. All his best form is on soft ground and he seems to be coming back to his best having won the Thyestes earlier this year. He also travelled very well in the Welsh national before tiring towards the finish The only negative is the rise in the weights as a result of his Thyestes win but he should have the class to carry it seeing as he won a Grade 1 as a novice. At a price of 33/1 generally, I think this fella is a decent e/w alternative to the fancied horses.

STS - I was hoping nobody else would highlight Gullinbursti but yes i agree and am already on. If he makes the cut he is lobbed on from a handicap perspective. I have it between him and Duke of Lucca myself, Loch Ba is the interesting younger horse coming through.

I think Chartreux could run a decent race but I would like to confirm Paddy rides before I put any money down. He lumped top weight in the Somerset National, only tying up on the run in as it was a real stamina test so I have no doubt 3 mile around cheltenham will suit. The big negative being I am not Tom Georges biggest fan.

Nadiya de la Vega looks one at a big price given his Cheltenham form this season. Must be a fair chance of Geraghty partnering as well. Looks like he's been crying out for 3 miles and will handle the conditions

Knockara Beau for me, his festival record is 5th (Neptune),4th (RSA),4th (Pertemps) and 6th in last years gold cup. Goes on any ground and there's been a bit of money for him today.

Thought I'd share the winner with you all at a nice juicy 25/1 nrnb or 33/1 Ante Post with Hills.
Twiston Davies has been struck down as of late with coughing in the yard but if all is well with this one, he might well have one way ahead of the handicapper. Tour Des Champs a horse that contested the AB last year finishing down the field in 10th, he was always going to be a chaser in the making,a half brother to Sir Des Champs; he has plenty of stamina on breeding and will surely relish a fast run handicap of this nature, He was in the process of running big races on two occasions against Rocky Creek when jumping errors cost him, most noticably when nearly unseating STD when the race was hotting up. He jumped well at ffos los so I think with plenty of schooling at home the jumping shouldn't be looked into to much. There's plenty of well handicapped horses lining up, the likes of Cantlow, Our Mick etc. But at the prices Tour Des Champs should in no way be 25/1, He has another engagment in the 4 miler but I'd be sure Twiston would want to share festival glory with his son, and although this horse maybe seen as a future grand national horse at this stage in his career 3 miles would be far enough.
Advice: back NRNB 2pts win 25/1 paddy power/stanjames/betvictor
