SIZING EUROPE will be left in the Sportingbet.com Champion Chase this morning and connections are "leaning towards" a third tilt at the championship event he won two years ago, trainer Henry de Bromhead has reveal
Sizing Europe, the 6-1 second favourite behind Sprinter Sacre, also holds an entry in the Ryanair Chase on Thursday, for which he is the same price, but forecast rain and the potential for ground conditions to ease are putting De Bromhead off the longer race. Speaking at a Racing Post-backed Cheltenham preview night on Wednesday, he said: "With the way the ground is going we are leaning towards the Champion Chase, but it really is still 50-50 as to which race we go for."
De Bromhead added that Cue Card's confirmation for the Ryanair Chase did not deter them from contesting that event.
I would have thought with the ground drying they would have opted for the Ryanair but knowing the owner and the unsatisfactory finish to the race last year they must fancy another crack at the QMCC

two days ago we were talking about a fast ground cheltenham, now the forecast is soft - still a way off yet and all plans are fluid until the rain actually falls.
(did you see what I did there, linking fluid plans and rainfall, I should write for the Times.)
