Jayantilal Patel’s application for a Hackney Carriage Driver’s Licence was granted for one year by Cheltenham borough licensing committee.

We hailed a taxi in the centre of Cheltenham town last year and the driver did not know where the racecourse was. We politely told him not to worry about it and got a different one. I know that is difficult to believe but it is 100% true.

..we grabbed a 'taxi' outside a pub gold cup day in a right rush some years ago. chap barely got out before 3 of us jumped in. driver had no idea where the course was . pathetic ...until we found out it was no taxi but someone dropping a workmate off ! ..he said he didn't want to tell us ..top man. would not accept any cash.

Dropped a workmate off last year and in not time 3 drunken louts jumped in wanting a lift to the racecourse

I pretended that I didn't know where the course was to try and get rid but they were having none of it

In the end the only option I had was to take them there and then they beggared off without paying!
