I have a really strange feeling simonsig will get done by something...

I can see Quevega not winning this time. For 4 years she's been a "get out of jail" card on the first day for a lot of people, i just see her not winning through misfortune rather than anything else.
Simonsig, never really been a believer in the horse, but it's never done anything wrong, but Overturn could really out his jumping under pressure at the pace he's gonna go.

Day 1 has a great potential for both punters and bookmakers. Realistically out of the 4, 2 will probably get beat maybe more - that's my opinion anyway. Betting short odds at the Festival is never advisable anyway.

I would expect 3 to get beaten.

Can see simonsig getting beat by overturn and I can't see MTOY's getting beat but realize that this shortie in the supreme is a recipe for disaster but as I say, can't see it, think the fly and quevega will win.

based on the current prices you are looking at around 1/3 that at least 2 of them get beat

I will play it on the day using the law of sods. I believe that 2 will get beat, but it is not at all impossible for 3 or even the 4 to be beat this year.
If The first 3 are beat can see Quevega winning! Which is very feasible imo! Though tbh, how many is left in the Supreme? Can really see this race cutting up if only about 20 left in as how many of them are also engaged in the neptune? Therefore MTOY would have a far easier assignment, and personally, can't see it beat. Simonsig is vulnerable, though possibly the Arkle would have no more than 10 in it and no fewer than about 6, will Overturn cut his own throat up front and/or will simonsig be able to pick him up and win relatively easily? And what about melodic, un atout etc improving horses Of the 4, the Fly is by far the most vulnerable, given the stat of previous winners and his price being woefully short, very layable at the moment! Quevega, hmm, what beats her? The fact maybe that she is a year older? And every year she has won this race, she has looked slightly less impressive? But, it is the same horses she beats year in year out so what is in there that could possibly beat her apart from the hurdles and a possibility of unlucky passage through through the race

The way i see it is, people often place luckys and accas on days where you see loads of shorties, they never ever all win, in fact more often than not 2 out of 4-5 generally win in meetings like that, and thats not even comparing the stat at the festival of short priced fav's im thinking about poxy rainy afternoon at plumpton lol.

Quevega aint faced the 2nd and 3rd fav's.
Not saying they will beat her,but they are good opposition,and imo better than any she has faced in this race before.

In fact looking at the complexion of the race now, the Arkle could easily cut up into a 6 or 7 runner affair! Who was it that was mocking me with my possible tissue a couple weeks ago saying simonsig could end up 1/3? After Fago today, thats very poss!

STS I was saying that 1/3 was a joke, it still is, even after fago today as he isn't the horse that stops simonsigs price, overturn is, and I'll say it again, if simonsig and overturn ran against each other and nothing else turned up, simonsig still wouldn't be 1/3, because other than the top 2, nothing else counts and it's been that way practically all season.
