A Couple Of Handicap Queries

Does anyone have stats to indicate what mark you would need to be on to get a run in the JLT? It strikes me this is a race that is usually full of dead wood keeping out any potential improvers. Secondly, why doesn't Edmund Kean have an official rating for the Martin Pipe? Pretty sure there will be very little weight range for this and he will need to be 135+ to get a run.

129 would have got in last year (including the winner Alfie Sherrin) and 128 the year before that.

Edmund Kean doesn't have a mark because he only completed the required three runs this week - his rating will be allocated in the list published next Tuesday.

Another quick question..
I see Abbey Lane is in the county of a mark of 124.. He won easily in Leop two weeks ago off 124.
Are the Handicap mark set already of are the to be re-assessed by English H'capper?

The Irish handicapper has already raised Abbey Lane from 124 to 135 for his latest win. The UK handicappers maintain their own ratings for Irish horses, but they are not published - they probably keep them secret to limit the arguments to just Cheltenham week!

But I'd guess he'll be given a UK mark of 137/8 for the County Hurdle.
