After failing to put punters clearly in the picture at his media open day, David Pipe has today given his strongest clue yet as to the Festival target of Gevrey Chambertin. The Master of Pond House revealed in no uncertain terms on Wednesday: "We have thought long and hard about Gevrey Chambertin's Festival aim and felt it only fair to let let punters know now that we have decided not to enter him in the OLBG Mares Hurdle. I was keen to give him an entry, but the owner felt it might be step too far for a novice so maybe we will enter him for it next year when he will be more mature and there may be no Quevega."

the thing is he said Gevrey Chambertin would likely miss cheltenham earlier in the season.
