I suppose maguire at 20's is fair with possibles in overturn, peddlers, up and go, cinders and ashes, if you're inclined to bet on this type of market, which i'm not.Grin
Report tyronesam January 15, 2013 4:38 PM GMT
where did u get the odds for this catch me....i think geraghty should be nearer to evens
Report Far From Trouble January 15, 2013 8:20 PM GMT
Ruby only has one penalty kick this year with Bucksy being out, whereas Barry Geraghty has two

6/4 a good price imo
Report tyronesam January 15, 2013 8:32 PM GMT
where can i get on ?
Report wellchief January 15, 2013 8:36 PM GMT
Off the top of my head:

RUBY

Dodging Bullets
Quevega
Hurricane Fly
Champagne Fever
Boston Bob
Sanctuaire
Tidal Bay
Far West
Ponte Alexandra
Conti

Geraghty

River Maigue
Simonsig
Grandouet
Puffin Billy
Sprinter
Captain Conan
Finians / Riverside
Oscar Whisky (possibly)
Bobs Worth

Out of those two, I'd just pick BJG, but I think it'll be very close; but there are probably a few obvious ones I've missed off.

Wouldn't be a bet that'd interest me at 6/4 though.
Report penzance January 15, 2013 9:24 PM GMT
you could say both have a banker
SS & Quevega.

Do think Ruby rides Cheltenham better than anyone else, between him and BG and may even come down to who wins the Gold Cup. Davy Russel would be value in an each way market/as a trading option
Report Arklearkle January 16, 2013 3:44 PM GMT
Would always pick Ruby for this with the pick of two top stables. Not convinced NH will have all these winners tbh.

I would fancy BJG, just, but if Henderson's horses lose their form, for any reason, he will be Donald Ducked whereas Ruby has 2 top stables. TightShocked

really feel mccoy is worth a small play in this market at 8-1 with stan james...has a very book of rides for me and is an overlay
Report festivalfanatic March 2, 2013 9:34 AM GMT
Apparently Hendo suggested that Ruby was the best bet for top jockey at the Glasgow Hilton. Maybe he takes the view that he has the best of the rides from 2 top yards whereas BJG only has one......or maybe he was just winding Barry up, who was also present!
Report sageform March 2, 2013 10:45 AM GMT
Hard to look past the top 2 in the betting but Tom Scudamore must be an outside chance. If Dynaste delivers, he will also have a few handicap fancies.
Report Catch Me ifyoucan February 5, 2020 3:21 PM GMT
NICO surely this year, now that WPM is giving him a few opportunities.
Report sageform February 9, 2020 10:10 AM GMT
Geraghty is not my favourite jockey but JP will have a fancied runner in at least 10 races so he will have a big chance. Who will ride Thyme Hill and any other Hobbs chances apart from Defi? Can't see Dickie being fit.
Report foxy February 9, 2020 2:50 PM GMT
I remember the year Jonjo won it with just one winner
