not sure bjg might know...
but was down to run a few weeks ago but mullins said he wasn't ready... make what you will of that |
By:
Keeps having entries but never turns up - slightly concerned
|
By:
lots of wylie horses have lots of entries ,everythings fine
|
By:
You connected to the horse flushgordon 1 ?

navan sun

Have backed and exuding confidence at the moment
Race looking weaker and weaker by the minute and Bob is still solid for me. Something doesn't quite sit right with me for Dynaste. You Must Know Me entered for the Sizings mob (new owners) on NYE fyi |
By:
Any ideas when he is coming back out ? I realise the ground was worse than heavy on his debut but ideally would like to see him run twice more before RSA which is looking more unlikely
|
By:
My guess is he'll be out for the 3m grade 2 at Naas on 19th then run in Grade 1 Dr PJ Moriarty at Irish Hennessy meeting 3 weeks later.
|
By:
TY for the info - have you backed him ?
|
By:
Heavily backed him.
|
By:
Guilty. Me too !
|
By:
He has shown in the Albert Bartlett he stays all day. He jumped like a stag on his debut and Mullins and Ruby both hold him in very high regard.
Think 10/1 is a big price in a very weak race. |
By:
Me three. Dynaste is keeping his price up and hopefully he'll be put away now until the festival and run in the RSA meaning BB's price stays nice!
|
By:
Tory - are you telling porkies ? £20 isn't heavily backed and you persuaded me to take some of my money off - which is now back on !
Hope dynaste goes for the jewson Ps before you start Tory I know my record is not good in this race ! |
By:
Have £59 on at 8.2 - will do for starters.
|
By:
I don't actually rate Boston Bob too highly, but I think he's becoming the defualt choice now; purely because of the opposition.
In what is looking a really poor race, at the odds he's the obvious one - against this opposition I'd be amazed if he didn't place anyway. |
By:
A devil's advocate question - does anyone else think it possible that BB might go for the Jewson?
After Back in Focus's win in the Fort Leney, Mullins claimed he was the ideal type for the RSA. Would he really run both of Wylie's in the same race? |
By:
Doubt it imo Back In Focus is more of soft ground horse than Boston Bob.
|
By:
With it being a Cheltenham Grade 1, I don't think Willie would mind running both in the RSA. Neither look Jewson candidates so it's quite possible.
|
By:
Aupcharlie surely Mullin's Jewson horse.
|
By:
Yeah probably but to my mind a much better horse than BIF......and i have him at 25s for RSA so much prefer him to go there. But will owner want two of his horses in same race?
|
By:
Boston Bob would have no chance in the Jeweson, he'd be totally outpaced. He's an RSA horse for sure and he'll be aimed at it
|
By:
Any chance back in focus goes for 4 miler? Think this is what he should be aimed at.
|
By:
Nah, he'll run in RSA along with Boston Bob. Mullins already has one for 4 miler in Vesper Bell. Better running 2 in RSA, better race.
|
By:
Got an entry for the Irish Arkle over 2m1f!
|
By:
Mullins always enters loads of his horses. It's to give options in case injury happens to main horse and field is weak. Also he does it to scare off rivals.
He entered Quel Esprit 2 years ago and he needs further than 3m |
By:
Cooldine often ran over much too short a trip in his RSA winning year as well.
|
By:
Just backed Bob to place at 9/4. I think that's a very fair price considering Dynaste is pretty much the same price to win.
|
By:
Mullins 2 best chasers have jumping problems already. He's not a trainer i would send one too if it were going over the bigger obstacles. It happens time and time again. When it comes to chasing, he is like the Irish Howard Johnson.

Pull all the faces you want. If someone like Johnson had horses like Mikael D'Haguenet ,Cousin Vinny, Cooldine, Arvika Legioneirre, Sir des Champs, Kempes and Quel Esprit, he would have got alot of negative comments if they all had jump problems like they have had with Mullins. If i back one of his chasers as an ante post, i take into consideration who trains them as a slight negative. What was the score with Sir Des Champs the other day ?
|
By:
He does seem to have had a fair few chasers that have not fulfilled promise shown early in their careers.
|
By:
That may well be the case - not sure Arvika deserves to be in the list at the moment

By:
very true, hes a fair chance in the Arkle imo.
|
By:
Greame,Which trainer has trained the most RSA chase winners in the last 50 years??????
|
By:
He clearly didn't watch Boston Bob's debut. Fcking stag he is at his fences
|
By:
Most of his horses get backed into favouritism though, which is not Willie's fault.
People see his name next to a horse and automatically expect them to win. To be fair Mikael D was plagued with injury, Kempes won an Irish Hennessey, Quel Esprit won an Irish Hennessey, Sir Des Champs won a Jewson and Cooldine an RSA; not too shabby. Cousin Vinny looked a good bumper horse, but how many of them go on to very little. Also, the likes of Kempes and Quel Esprit looked above average hurdlers, but they never looked like world beaters that would go on to stardom. |
By:
I watched Boston Bob. He jumped well, so let's see it he can keep it up. I have my doubts.
