Struck my first festival bet today.
Dynaste to win the RSA. The highest rated hurdler going nov chasing this season. Got to have a little at double figure price. Similar profile to Grand Crus and he started a 6/5 shot for this years race. Will surely win a few easy nov races then step up for the feltham.

thats my only bet so far too
Report bluebirdfan October 31, 2012 9:15 PM GMT
A lot can happen between now and March obviously but this years RSA could be the best ever renewal
Report Glossy October 31, 2012 9:23 PM GMT
My bet is that a plodder who goes on to do little or nothing will win the RSA.

I like my trends.

Champagne Fever could be an interesting one if it goes well over fences, gutsy in the bumper.
Report Desmond Orchard November 1, 2012 1:42 PM GMT
After For Non Stop bolted up on Saturday I had a little poke at Champion Court for the Gold Cup. I know it's not really the plan, but it could be that the Jewson is the best form on offer for the second season staying chasers, which is hardly original with SDC fav for the race.
My feeling is that the last 2 Gold Cups have been below par renewals, so once again I expect the winner to be having his first run in the race and it looks a pretty open affair. This fella loves it round HQ and with Finians and a few other crack 2 milers likely to take in the Ryanair, connections of any horse likely to get three miles+ might fancy a shot at the big one, as it could conceivably be the 'weaker' race. At triple figures, I just had to.
Report buddeliea November 1, 2012 5:05 PM GMT
Cannot believe the QM winner will line up in the Ryanair.Think if he dont prove to stay 3m he will end up back in the QM again. If he stays then he will be in Gold Cup.
Report Howdi November 1, 2012 5:50 PM GMT
how anyone could back a runner in the RSA before seeing it jump astonishes me.

Report festivalfanatic November 1, 2012 8:01 PM GMT
Fid Dynaste was put up on the Timeform radio preview - you know the one H, you posted the link! - so I certainly wouldn't put you off. AS for being a mug, well aren't we all?

Captain Chris cant jump either but won an Arkle ( jumped ok that day )
Report Can't Catch Me November 2, 2012 9:06 AM GMT
Isnt that the joy of antepost punting though Howdi? If you wait until they run, and they show themselves to be excellent jumpers, the price shortens.

I'd always take a few more risks to get a few extra points tbh.
Report Howdi November 2, 2012 4:35 PM GMT
not for me ccm i wanna see them jump first but im old fashioned Plain
Report .Fidway. November 2, 2012 9:28 PM GMT
has get me out of here jumped a fence?
Report Glossy November 3, 2012 2:31 AM GMT
Not in public. Jonjo has said that he schooled very well when asked though - not sure if Howdi knows something we don't? As I understand it, they are making up their mind whether to campaign him in the Championship hurdle races or to send him novice chasing because of his high mark.
Report Howdi November 3, 2012 8:44 AM GMT
schooled terribly. (nap)

Report Smart Predator November 4, 2012 1:08 PM GMT
Dynaste will be more of a jewson horse, Pipe has already said he isn't slow and 2m4 will be his trip, same applies to Fingal Bay but both will probably run in the Feltham.

2 years ago - they abandoned the jumping campaign on the back of it. I also recall Jonjo saying he wasn't a natural on Racing Uk.

Montbazon - Champion Hurdle 40/1.

Though since I placed that bet the trainer has said he wont be out until second half of season. Sad

Cracking introduction tomorrow. Getting weight from Fingal's, the Pipe team will surely be disappointed if they get beat?
Report strontium November 15, 2012 10:45 PM GMT
They must think very highly of him (or have egos the size of the planet) to have entered him in the Betfair.
Report willie the milk November 16, 2012 3:50 PM GMT
Delighted with that. Jumped and travelled very well indeed. Quicked nicely too. Feltham next?
Report FOYLESWAR November 16, 2012 4:27 PM GMT
did it well today jumped and travelled well and the feltham should be on the agenda ,the betfair entry was a huge positive for his chance today ,good luck with it .
Report Spirit November 16, 2012 4:29 PM GMT
I hope he runs in the RSA for you willie, showed a lot of speed in a slowly run race, could very well end up in the jewson, but best of luck.
Report dtamutants November 16, 2012 4:43 PM GMT
I really hope he runs in the RSA too. Mainly so I can lay him at something like 6/4 though  Tongue Out
Report Howdi November 16, 2012 5:32 PM GMT
jumps like a dream there you go lads Mischief
Report strontium November 16, 2012 7:04 PM GMT
Very nice debut. 50-50 for the RSA/Jewson though imo. 6/1 not aqn attractive price for the RSA at this point!
Report buddeliea November 16, 2012 7:24 PM GMT
6/1?,yer right it aint!!
Report willie the milk November 16, 2012 8:47 PM GMT
I reckon the Feltham will be next tho they may try to find another 2.5ml - 3ml nov ch before hand. I believe the stats tell you need to have at least 3 chases under your belt before winning an RSA???
Report Smart Predator November 17, 2012 10:45 AM GMT
Stats say Feltham winners don't win RSA's Pipe won't make the same mistake as last year, Newbury Kempton a 2 bob race after Christmas then the Jewson. RSA's ruin future Gold Cup runners unless they are exceptional like Denman. They will go the easier route this year then Gold Cup next year just like Willie is doing with Sir Des!
Report .Fidway. November 17, 2012 1:01 PM GMT
