Cheltenham is always special. I always get a tingle down my spine the fist time I look out at the course when I go.

Ditto Stront, the best place on earth my old man called it - he's sprinkled at the finishing line, my mum said we should have put him at the start - given him another chance ! Their divorce wasn't amicable

Maybe you should have split him half and half - that would be about right for most of the gamblers I know

Observe winning the Kennedy Construction was his finest hour he told me  - that was until Galway Blaze carted Dwyer to Hennessey glory

Decent looking first day card with a fair sprinkling of Irish runners. I believe the course used to pay/subsidise the travelling expenses for Irish runners at this early meeting. Anyone know if they still do?

A fab card, just polishing the badge whilst trying to contain myself ! Dunno about the irish expenses, i would guess yes tho FF.

Poor in comparison with what? Very interesting novice hurdle in the first race. If Shutthe frontdoor was running, what price would he be? Village Vic looks big at 6/1 to me.

A very decent card for a Friday. 3 fascinating novice chases/hurdles with some interesting types and 3 very competetive looking handicaps. I'll take that any time.

We may have seen some decent sorts today - Village Vic and The New One, Sire Collonges and Sea of Thunder + Court Minstrel should all have decent races in them.

It wasn't busy for Cheltenham, but it was possibly quite busy for this meeting. As Howdi says, it was just him in Best Mate though.
