Charles Byrnes has said he was stunned by the disappointing showing from Trifolium at Punchestown last week.
The Supreme Novice Hurdle third, was sent off the 8/15 favourite to score on his seasonal debut in the Grade 3 Ryan's Cleaning Events Specialists Hurdle at Punchestown last Thursday but he trailed home thirty-two lengths second to Miley Shah. Byrnes said after the success of Moscow Chief in the bumper at Tipperary this afternoon: "We were stunned by his run and Davy (Russell) said that he was beaten after the first hurdle. “He has undergone a wind operation since but won’t be out for too long as it was only a small operation.” |

Money down on this for Saturday, 25s when books opened!
|
|
By:
Obviously the money has come but a large part of that may be due to ROR and Darlans doubtful participation. 25/1 was a ridculous price when the race could end up with 3 or 4 runners and a big well done to anyone who got on

He may well win on Saturday but could never see him winning a champion hurdle.

By:
Hope he's fairly well beaten then they change plans and go chasing

Trifolium probably ran below his best but last years supreme novices looks rubbish now. None of that lot will be winning a champion hurdle.

Wanted him to be beat so they might consider going chasing, but that was an awful run, i'd say it was too bad to be true but it's already happened once this season
![]() Shame really looked a monster in the making last season |
