I thought he would of said something by now. Could it be due to him wanting announce any news in his Betfair column??
By:
On Twitter this morning. Exact McCain quote on Peddlers last eve "Plan A is still the Arkle unless something tells us otherwise" Couple of schooling sessions planned
By:
Shockster - That doesn't explain the weakness though. If plan A was still the Arkle then surely he'd be shorter than 7/1.
By:
Can't help you Jet. 7/1 is a good price if Plan A is to be believed.
By:
I agree, hopefully he's at Newbury today and RUK mange to get a interview off him.
By:
listening to maguire just being interviewed then by lydia i got the impression that the jewson is favourite.
By:
J Maguire just been interviewed on RUK,looks like the Jewson to me!!
Maybe Grade 1 horses do run in grade 2 races ![]() |
By:
Mccains bottling it.
By:
Was 11/4 the other day.
7/1 now. Something doesnt add up. |
By:
It's also an example of why the Jewson is bad for the festival.
I hate the idea of him swerving the Arkle to take the 'easier' race. |
By:
You could say the same about the Neptune and Albert Bartlett but the real issue is McCain taking until March to seemingly decide the Jewson is the easier race and then not bother to make a statement - almost as pathetic as Nicholls.
By:
i've been a big fan of mccain and peddlers cross but if they go for the jewson, after everything they've said since kempton, i hope they get thoroughly beaten
By:
Agree if tue he is as bad if not worse than the others!!! Bottle job dont be afraid of one horse was one of his statements!!!!!!
By:
his old man would have sorted him out....get that bloody horse in the arkle and stick it to those southern nancies.

What did JM say?
By:
basically he said that the hesitancy is down to the fact that as yet he's not competed properly in a 2 mile race over fences against top opposition in order to establish whether the 2 miles is the right trip or not...obviously they are disregarding the kempton race as he was beat after the first fence.
By:
obviously if he had the chance to race against the likes of french opera like SS did last time they would have an idea of whether he needed to go further or not.

Thanks duffy

personally, i would rather be a winner at Cheltenham, any race is a good one. 2nd, 3rd or 4th is not much fun, even if it is the big one. cheers.

Arkle and Jewson markets suspended
News imminent imo |

goes for the jewson. mccain confirms.

After a lot of discussion between myself, Jason [Maguire] and owner Tim Leslie, it has been decided that Peddlers Cross will head to the Jewson Novices' Chase at the Cheltenham Festival.
It has been a long road back from the setback he had at Kempton in December and we feel at this stage that the 2m4f event will be more beneficial to him in the long term, as we did when running him in the Neptune rather than the Supreme when he was a novice hurdler. Because of his problems after Kempton, we haven't been able to school him as intensively as we would have liked and feel that going that half stride slower in the longer race makes sense. |
By:
Plan A Yeah Yeah - Nice little bonus for the stable staff
By:
Disgrace imo, this was decided a long time ago judging by the markets.
By:
dun dun dunnnnnnnnnn
By:
Joke decision. AP punters put well away. Disgraceful. Plan A my arse.
For once not pocket talking. |
By:
worth steaming into the 5.5 @ hills with a view to laying off?
By:
What a grade A t0sser! I've lost money on horses switching races in the past but this one really leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
Learn from this Donald - if you are not sure say so, other trainers sit on the fence. Don't come out and state something that is clearly not the plan. Really come out of this badly... |

see you next tuesday mccain you ****

Runs Thursday

All been put away there "The Arkle is the plan unless something happens to make us think differently" from Saturday's Racing Post.
Interested to know exactly what did happen!! |
By:
what a fooking coward, i'm a PC fan but i am struggling very hard to not want him to get stuffed.
By:
personally I think Peddlers isn't working the house down and they think he can win the Jewson only being 90% right. I don't think he can and I wouldn't touch any 3/1.
By:
What a season this horse has had - two tin pot races at Bangor that told you precisely nothing and then that abject surrender at Kempton. Now a white flag job from McCain who has basically sold ante-post punters down the river. If he has jumping issues he isn't going to win the Jewson.
By:
will pp still refund peddlers bets in arkle if ss wins
By:
No he had to finish second to SS
![]() |
By:
No, refund ALL bets if SS wins, not sure if this includes PC but i dony see why not?
