Can't see it myself, but am told from one or two that it's a sure thing. Any thoughts?

You have no chance of getting evens, everybody who is going to cheltenham plunged on it 3 weeks ago, knowing it would be odds on 8/11, get a downpour and soft ground 1/2 and i can see quevenga going off at around 2/7, after the fly skoots in Whoops
Report stormey1 February 28, 2012 5:48 AM GMT
Id say theres a good chance he will b evens on the day.
This time last year Cue Card was around the 2/1 mark for the Supreme yet on the day you could get 3/1.
The fight for our business at the Festival these days means that the bookies will offer some very tempting prices and if they play the game like last year i wouldnt be at all surprised to see prices like 6/4 Sprinter Sacre as well
Report dwm767 February 28, 2012 7:34 AM GMT
Depends on the results of the Arkle; if the bookies get Sprinter Sacre beat they'll be falling over themselves to lay Hurricane Fly! You might even get 6/4.
Report thedemps February 28, 2012 7:43 AM GMT
I would think someone will do it overnight for the publicity but don't think the price would be allowed to last on course - I will certainly go back in if it does go evs day of race

Stan James sponsor the race. Must be internal discussions on how they will "market the race" in the 24 hours before the off. May be lay it to lose a 100 Grand at evens but limit to say £200 max per bet so a good spread can get on at evens. When he wins they'll probably get most of it back when those on at evens play up their winnings during the next 24 races.

I can see the line of argument which says that if SS gets beat then it could well be pushed out.I remember bookies falling over themselves on the day to go over Cue Card last year and it SP at a price bigger than it had been for weeks in the AP market. Very much depends on sprinter Sacre.

when you think big bucks has gone off at 4-6 and 4-5 the last 2 renewals of the world hurdle, knowing how superior he is to the opposition, i think there is every chance that the fly goes off evens
Report ACStafford February 28, 2012 10:13 AM GMT
Could even be odds against. Bookies are always competing to be top price in the morning. If Sprinter Sacre wins though, there's sure to be a plunge.

I want the fav to Fly home like a Hurricane - two weeks from today.
Report BornToWin February 28, 2012 12:46 PM GMT
Bucksy was 10/11 last year, incredible. I am pretty sure a bookie somewhere will be offering the coin toss on the Fly come the Tuesday morning.
Report CVByrne February 28, 2012 3:01 PM GMT
Grand Crus was considered a live danger to BB last year tbf. Nothing has really emerged to threaten Fly that he hasn't already beaten out of sight before. Zarkander on one he hasn't beat, while he has RoR beaten through lines on OW and Binocular.

You should get evens in the morning, but I can't see him going off anything other than odds on.
Report neill d February 28, 2012 3:10 PM GMT
Binocular is the only one with even remotely the game to trouble him unless the gallop is something stupid or there is mishap
Report strontium February 28, 2012 3:51 PM GMT
I'd imagine there'll be a lot of Irish money for HF as their first hotpot of the meeting (no Dunguib/Cousin Vinny etc this year and nothing in the Arkle). Personally I'd be surprised if he goes evens unless it's a special promo by Stan James etc.
