Do we really never see most nov winners till Feb'? Every year?

No stats to offer and no time to compile any but from memory it is very rare for late debutants to win at the festival.  Flown won the Supreme a couple of hundred years ago and Zarkandar the Triumph last year.  Both had flat experience, which is worth pointing out.  Soldatino, we hadn't seen but he had run over hurdles in France as well as on the flat.  Fiveforthree won the Neptune on the back of a maiden hurdle win in February, he had contested the champion bumper the year before.  Galileo(POL) came from the flat to hurdles to win the Neptune debuting in February.

So it is a bit of a myth then that we are always having to wait till late Jan and Feb before we see most yards top juveniles and therefore future stars. I thought that. And so when i read about certain trainers, namely at the moment, Henderson, stating that we have not yet seen this horse or that horse and no i wont name them they are, well talking rubbish and just merely goading their fellow comrades.

Or their best horses come out quite late and get beaten at Cheltenham...

Absolutely not a myth about Henderson juveniles often emerging later, at least recently - Molotof, Soldatino, Punjabi, Binocular, Celtus, Moose Moran, Higgs Ragazzo, Soliwery all appeared after Christmas and well into January (or even in Feb). Clearly some of these were ordinary, but some were not.

Question was WINNERS of the novice events at Cheltenham.  Soldatino is the only one in your list and he ran over hurdles in France in January so wasn't being "kept back."

Thats correct thieves, my question was winners of the novice events as i feel it is a myth and maybe we are all thinking this is the case and the norm as with the last couple of winters we have had some pretty bad weather and a lot of abandonment's. Where as this year we have been pretty lucky with the weather with hardly any

The last two Triumph winners weren't seen until mid-Feb, though Zarkander was the first one since the year dot to win the Triumph after only one run.
