Mono Man is clearly a horse with a lot of potential but it has to be said I wouldn't be in a rush to backing him antepost unless you know the well being of the horse first hand. He has obviously had plenty of problems.

After last year's Simonsig, Fingal Bay and Boston Bob "which race will they run in saga", I'll be keeping my money in my pocket unless I see one at a huge price.

Not even mentioned in Mark Howard's book in the Hendo stable. He's either still injured or not there anymore :(

Stevo - what on earth? Vis-a-vis Mono Man, how many other horses are ommitted form the Howard book? Many I would say. Why on earth would /should he be giving updates at this stage? Many horses would not even be back yet or only just returning. You may have complaints about other horses with this trainer, but the idea that he is misbehaving at this stage with this horse is IMO just wrong.

One horse I am interested in, who ties in with Mono Man is OSCAR DARA, formerly with Alan Flemming and now with Nicky Henderson.

He is due to run at exeter next week and has an entry in the Neptune, apparantly he's been working well on the gallops.

Url below is from the owners blog who details the injury record the horse has had, and would love to see this horse run well at Cheltenham.

I don't care if it's aftertiming, but having read the blog online from Oscara Dara's owners in the link above almost a year ago, I've always kept an eye out for him, and delighted for his connections today, and had a few little quid on myself.

Mono Man beat him quite comfortably, so would be great to see him back on the track.

No question Well Chief - hard to follow this, at my age, is the suggestion that Mono Man will return at Exeter? They do race on 23.01.2013 and they have 2 novice hurdles (well a novice and a maiden).

Getting this fragile horse to Cheltenham would be an achievement. To win a race would be Hendo's training performance of all time.

2014 might just be his year.

Slowly turning into Monsignor
