Only yesterday I was saying that the Triumph is my number one race to avoid for AP betting... and I am pretty sure it is....but I've buckled already and had a smidge on this at 33/1 before its run today.

Was a big fan of the horse on the flat and always felt he could be the perfect type to go over hurdles. Very informative Triumph trial today and if he can get anywhere nr Grumeti and give him a race I think his price will halve.

I've just got a feeling this horse could end up being fav for the race.

I'd say, in receipt of 7lb, he would have to beat Grumeti in order for his price to halve tbh!

I reckon if he gets beaten a length or so, the pair well clear, Grumeti will shorten and Sud Pacifique will be 20's or 16's myself Sint. 7lbs is cancelled out by being first time up imo.

Cant believe I've talked myself into an AP bet in this race though!!

OK well hope he runs a cracker. Nothing really layed a strong marker for this race yet but then they dont usually until Februaury.

Hobbsy ' Saddlers Risk was very impressive at Kempton on Saturday but is priced accordingly.

There is only one other main rival in this race though CCM at around 7/1. The other 3 are 60/1 or bigger on here.

Yeah true mate. But think Art History is probably a decent enough tool.

Agree about Sadlers Risk. He was very impressive indeed, and Hobbs was absolutely gushing about him. I'd certainly rather back him thatn Grumeti at similar prices.... before this anyway!

What a comical race Laugh

Now I remember why I dont bet AP on the Triumph.... Sad

Oh well, you win some, you lose some. Was really impressed with Grumeti until he came down.

Grumeti hurdled like an old pro before that slip. Very taking performane really.

hurdled fluently enough but just looks a bit soft for hurdling imo
