The Supreme Novices thread seems to be getting plenty of activity so thought I'd start one up for the following days opener. Long been a favourite of mine with Ten Plus, Asir, Thetford Forest, Fundamentalist and Massini's Maguire contributing to the Tidwell coffers over the years. It's been a bit of a nightmare in recent years though trying to identify the runners since the Albert Bartlett joined the fray.
Fingal Bay doesnt interest me at the price while he's not a confirmed runner so two against the field at the moment:
Monksland - already mentioned in another thread. Last race he won was also used as a prep by Nicanor and near misses Venalmar and Trafford Lad if memory serves. 16/1 still available is very fair with this race seemingly the certain aim
Broadbackbob. I get the feeling from BGs blogs that he's very keen on this fellow and has done nothing wrong in two starts this season. Might have been a shade fortunate to beat Cinders and Ashes first time up but the trip was surely inadequate and he would have needed it . Newbury run stamped him as a stayer and he strikes me as Geraghty's likely mount in this race (cant see him gloing for either of the other two races). His bumper run at Aintree was a real eyecatcher...the amateur jockey seemed to find every bit of trouble going and the birds had flown by the time he got going - should have been third at the very least. 25/1 seems far too big at the moment (despite the trainers record in it!)?
How come you missed Monsignor LOL. I'm clueless on this race, working out who is going for the race is one battle I can't win let alone finding a winner. If Allure of Illusion heads for this I'd be interested, very fancied for the bumper last year and didn't make the cut, injured earlier this year but apparently fit now.
