Yes I may have the sponser wrong, but this will surely be a huge runner given any abilty to jump a flight.

Winner in a hack canter off 92 in the Irish Cesarawich yesterday - this must be a group 3 horse on the level at least. Bags of improvement likely, heads to Dessie Hughes to learn the game.

16/1 might look skinny in the eyes of some, but I will be suprised if a better 3yr old flat horse goes hurdling- and will be backing this to win a small house.

looks good to me aswell , may have a little bet on it , surely it wont be 16/1 on the day , probably more like 5/1 if he takes to hurdling

Triumph Hurdle winner doesn't appear until after Xmas
Report revedesivola October 11, 2011 12:30 AM BST
triumph hurdle betting at the start of the national hunt season is oneof the best ways of ridding yourself of cash imo.

Fair enough, but when did you start playing? Not October surely?
Report bluebirdfan October 12, 2011 11:49 AM BST
Ok then Win only etc etc, the triumph hurdle winner runs today in Ireland ;)

More bait required WO,
ps,we didnt see the Triumph winner until February last season, hth

WOSP, I smashed this horse on Sunday (posted elsewhere so not aftertiming) and agree with you he is at least Listed class on his last performance.

I'd rather wait until he has jumped a hurdle though before backing him as his price cant change much from the 16/1 after just one race imo. No guarantee he will translate the form either.

When is he due to run over stix ?
Report OnTheSnaff October 14, 2011 11:48 PM BST
it always makes me chuckle when people use the "he was a group horse on the flat" to convince themselves he's gonna make the grade as a hurdler

"he was a group horse on the flat" not a bad starting point though is it.
Report OnTheSnaff October 16, 2011 11:10 PM BST
not when you consider recent winners of the Champion Hurdle were absolute tosh on the flat duffy,
ie Katchit and punjabi
Report duffy October 17, 2011 12:26 AM BST
exactly...so if you've got a group horse on the flat...it's a good starting point!!!...or are you saying if you've got 2 horses for the triumph one is rated 50 on the flat and one is rated 95...you'd pick the 50 rated horse...to beginwith?
Report revedesivola October 17, 2011 12:29 AM BST
i think what ots is saying is that obviously a high flat rating is an indicator that the horse has reasonable ability, its just theres no guarantee itll translate to jumps. on the subject, nicholls has prospect wells entered up...
Report duffy October 17, 2011 12:36 AM BST
i didn't say it was a guarantee....all i said was that it is a good place to start......anyhow what about celestial halo.
Report duffy October 17, 2011 12:38 AM BST
actually, to point out horses rated in the 70's winning the triumph i don't see how that isn't actually supporting the notion that a horse rated 20lb higher can't be able to do the same.
Report duffy October 17, 2011 12:39 AM BST
70's on the flat that is
Report revedesivola October 17, 2011 9:07 AM BST
im agreeing with you!
Report wellchief October 18, 2011 5:16 PM BST
This time last year, it was the mighty Franklino at the head of the Triumph market.

He now races off a lofty mark of 109 has his form figures boast 372425-42
Report duffy October 18, 2011 6:36 PM BST
i'll expand on my point .......if a horse with an elevated flat form...if they then "take" to hurdling, the ability that they already have will stand them in good stead....i'm not saying that they are a group horse on the flat , therefore "will" win....i'm saying that a horse being a group horse on the flat is a good starting.... and "only" a starting point.Happy

What does this point prove please? Think it was the owner who posts on here having his few quid. No relevence what so ever to Minsks chances.
Report wellchief October 19, 2011 5:31 PM BST
Doesn't effect his chances at all.

What does effect his chances is the 3 year old currently chewing away at some grass in a field in France that none of us have heard of
